Save your money on the rear; there are no struts to brace. The ones you see are aesthetic items only.

For the front try and find a factory fit strut brace or OMP item. As far as I'm aware there aren't the same clearance issues on the na.

As Szkom has said, the rear "brace" only stiffens the rear bulkhead between the two rear seatbelt mounts (which was hardly a flexible section of the bodyshell anyway). It is essentially just a bit of cosmetic bling and serves no useful purpose (unless the purpose is to add cosmetic bling.... rolleyes )

The upper front brace is very worthwhile - it certainly adds quite a bit of precision - you will feel it most in the form of sharper turn-in, especially when changing from one direction to another (as opposed to just turning in from a straight line). As for brand - either the Sparco brac fitted to LEs and Pluses, or the aftermarket OMP brace

Nigel, I'd go a step further and call the rear "brace" potentially lethal as it alters the interaction of the belt mount without having had any proper testing.

RatDog be aware that there are 2x design front braces for the 20v n/a, ie VIS and early model with the alloy rocker cover, the Sparco 4x point would fit either, OMP 4x point will only fit the early.

Browsing their website would suggest that they are not available.

Finally I have managed to fit it, but the other way round. it now clears perfectly under the bonnet.
I have mentioned this to the seller which has been very helpfull. I also think that in this position it will work better do to the force angles.

Yes and quite a bit. You can feel it much stiffer and its much sharper entering the corners.

The 1732 brace will clash with the potentiometer so no it's early fitments only, the one you need is very similar to the 1830 design, I can't find the correct number at the moment so I'll go digging back in my files.

I have a VIS, and the standard strut brace doesn't fit. Joe tried a couple on mine with no luck. I'm still looking for one which is compatible.

Make sure you try before you buy.
