Didn't want to be looking at my project car this way around but seized brembos and the 'spare' set of wheels I bought with tyres not fitting may well dictate a reverse about face approach.
Car is quite a clean 20vt in broom yellow with standard silver 4 spokes and silver brembos.
What do we think of red calipers (all 4), and possibly a wheel colour change to something like black/gunmetal grey or the likes?

Thanks
John

Always seem to have too many 20VT's to count......

I like black wheels on colours such as blue, yellow and red, so I say black wheels laugh

Red calipers will look ok, but to me, there will be too many colours going on.

If I had a yellow Coupe, it would be black wheels with yellow calipers.

On my other Sprint Blue Coupe, I had black wheels with sprint blue calipers and thought it looked good cool

That's just my opinion though laugh

I agree with T it would be one colour too many. I agree with her wheel comments too. Black wheels look good on sprint blue, Yellow and rosso red but not on the darker colours. I don't think even the graphite grey variants look that good on most colours. Nice shiny silver is best* smile

*except on my new silver coop That would be too much silver laugh

Most interesting.
Saw a broom yellow 16v on ebay with black wheels. Not a fan after seeing it.Some sort of gunmetal may be okay but I have just ordered some red calipers so I suspect shiny silver it will be.
Spoke to my usual alloys specialist - they aren't too bad - but his quote was a mickey-take so he is off the team. I can see me ending up doing these myself at this rate.
How much a corner are people paying for a not-too drastic refurb?

TIA

Recently I paid less than £200 for all 4 in brum. Can't remember how much exactly but less than £50 per corner. Good job too. I though that was probably about the price..

Have bitten the bullet and just had the tyres thrown on my tatty VT 4 spokes for now.
I have quite a nice set of 6.5 x 16 wheels here if anyone wants them (for a consideration towards my brake overhaul!!!). Not sure what style they are - they're sort of like a 4 wide spoke cyclone type thing.

So.
Procured some wheels from a member that need a refurb. A couple of them are done in a light anthracite/gunmetal type colour - which I love. Will go well with the red Brembos I think. He thinks it's the factory LE wheel colour - I've done a search unsuccessfully - anyone got the colour code for them? Many thanks. J

It's like food is it not? You've asked a question, so it's open to what one thinks. Personally I would not go red. On a yellow Coop I would go silver with yellow Brembo detail. cool

I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time
