Toyota Prius MPG Problem #1608526

Hi guys - just popping in when I am in need of some reliable information. Apparently that isn't available 'out there'.

A friend in California has owned a Prius from new, in 2008. The mpg has steadily declined over the years, and now she is getting 19-22 mpg!

There are all sorts of suggestions as to why this might be (none of them convincing), and apparently it isn't a rare problem. Any ideas?

Hope you are all well! Coupe ownership is becoming a rarity.

Hi Brian,

I reckon that as the universe is expanding, the mile is getting longer, so miles per gallon gets worse... tongue

I drove a 6.3 v8 in California this August which did between 15 and 22 mpg. Fuel economy was never at the top of my mind. Tell her to change to a Mustang / Dodge / Camero.
