After ten and a half years I’ve parted ways with my Coupe or ‘The Fiat’ as it’s affectionately been known.

I needed a car which can get me to and from work and over the past 8-9 months she’s been troublesome and the running issues have meant I’ve not been able to enjoy it.

I sold her to a club member who intends to get her fixed and while it was hard to watch someone else drive her away I know he will enjoy her for years to come. I’m sure he’ll have as much fun in T431OKE as I did smile

Ah! A sad day mate. I hope you can get another one day when circumstances allow.

Sorry to hear that Chris but I know that your patience has been well and truly tried over the past few months. Hopefully you will get another at some point

A sad day indeed.
You certainly tried all you could to sort it out.
The thought of having only a modern car and nothing interesting to fiddle with outside of the house makes me shudder.
Would you ever consider another, in the future?
Have a beer to cheer yourself up.

Cheers all, I loved tinkering with it when it was making something better one way or another, but months of troubleshooting especially in the middle of winter, on my back, lying on the road combined with it not running correctly got the better of me.

I am sure that I'll get another in the future but for now I need a Coupe break. I still plan to help out on the board though.

This is really sad news, you must have been gutted when you turned her upside down to get to the bottom of the running issues. One can sympathise with the January blues though, so frustrating trying to get anything done without turning that colour in five minutes frown

Fingers crossed you may see another before too long - like when summer's approaching wink

Sad to hear this Gunzi,

After all your efforts! But hear you when you talk about car repairs in the cold and wet lying on the road way under a car. There comes a time to pass those moments by.

Glad your sticking on the board.

And lets hope that as the weather warms up and that legendary golden globe appears in the sky again- a coupe will catch your eye and your back in to the fold soon!

Regards

MM

The time comes for everything and only you know when enough is enough.

I have had mine from new since 1997 and it is getting to the point where it needs some rust sorting (bonnet, sills, wheel arches, etc) or letting go. The TÜV is due in March so I have started sorting out its few problems and even working in a usually unheated garage with the help of a fan heater is bad enough this time of year frown

Maybe I will hand it over to my son so that it is not that far away before it finally has to be retired.

Lets hope the weather improves and those that store them away can get their coupes out, into sunlight.

A bit of window down driving in the sun - with the sound of the engine revving is needed!

A good tonic for the time of year and poor weather.

Regards all,

MM
