Permanently lit but not flashing? Almost certainly the relay in the indicator 'relay' unit has failed, though it could be an external wiring issue (short to something live). But pull the indicator relay and if it goes off, there's your problem.

If it's permanently flashing, check the switch unit. But from memory, that doesn't happen if the ignition's off.

...sometimes is due to the alarm's indicator relay contacts stuck.

P.S: so try the above as Neil suggested, or second - try disconnecting the alarm unit.

if you still have the stock alarm, mbendle, the contacts for the indicators are built into the unit.

It is on a loom which is 'under' the instrument binnacle.

You need to put a hand up, under and behind, the steering column, and you should find it in a sleeve of rubber. Draw it down through the gibbons to examine it and disconnect.

Blimey left indicator is the least of your problems if you've got gibbons hidden up there as well.. shocked If you yank on the rubber hard enough David Attenborough may fall out .. crazy
