Well lots.Bit of a story...... Purchased a new daily hack a few months ago due to to some kind person who wrote off my wee van. Just a wee three cylinder jobbie £30 tax, ideal for me, I don't do a lot of miles, but toodle about here & there.

Sunny weather here & I decide to change the oil & filter on my wee car. Purchased two filters last week (good price) Up to my garage I go, on to the ramps, drain oil, off with the old filter. enjoying the sunshine & tidy up a wee bit. Out with the new filter that was in my boot, wait a minute the rubber ring is much bigger than the one I took off the filter cap. Oh deary me wrong filter.

I'll just go back to the house & Mrs Jimboy will take me into the motor factors & exchange filters. Not possible phone closed. Open Monday.. rolleyes Back to the garage, retrieve old filter give it a good clean & reuse, new oil. Two hours later car is rup & running again. Not a big deal but what a fanny about..... grr

I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

Yes Jim I've been there pal. A pain but you dealt with it. How's the coupe coming on?

Reminds me of the time I did an oil change on my motorbike.

All going well, but oil level kept dropping when I put new oil in.

Forgot to put sump plug back in. Oops. Luckily the bucket was still under the bike.

A similar story from me too. I was bombing down the M40 some 30-odd years ago in my first 124 CS 1800 Spider and slowed for a roundabout at the end, as I went around the roundabout the oil pressure dropped to zero and the low oil pressure light came on and stayed on. I pulled over and checked the oil level, seemed very low so I topped up from the oil I was carrying but as I poured it in, an oil slick appeared below the engine. Fearing the worst, I called the AA, but it turned out that the sump plug was missing, it must have fallen out approaching the roundabout. Luckily I had a spare sump plug on a 124 CC Coupe in my back garden at home, some 30 miles away in SE London/Kent, but the AA man drove me home (this was in the days before the M25 was completed) where I removed the sump plug and he drove me back, picking up some more oil on the way. Got back to the Spider, put sump plug in, filled up, and went on my way home. I can't imagine the AA being so accommodating these days...
