Greetings, as most of you know,naturally aspirated Twin Cam 2.0 16v ie engine has been instaled in many italian cars including early Coupe versions and it is the rarest,more than 2.0 16vt.Power for that particular 16v engine ranged from 85kw up to what I thought 103kw,the one in the Coupe and Tipo 2.0. Today I found out that is not true,and that some stock versions of the engine produced up to 114kw,the one installed in the Thema or 109kw in Tipo Sedicivalvole. Does anyone know what are the parts and ECU diferences between the versions? Valve size,camshafts,intake?

The book "Twin-Cam Italia" by Phil Ward has some of these data in Appendices, but only goes up to year 1988 (Fiat) and year 1999 (Lancia) so does not include Tipo or Coupe for example.

Here in Blighty we're used to seeing power quoted in horsepower rather than kW, but 1 kW = 1.341 hp or 1 hp = 0.7457 kW.

The book gives 155 hp (116 kW) for the last model Thema (non turbo) and the Tipo Sedicovalvole is quoted in the text as having 148 hp (110 kW) in year 1992.

Both figures are higher than the 137 hp (102 kW) for the Coupe 2.0 16v. According to the book, the 215 hp (160 kW) for the Fiat 131 Abarth (year 1977) is equalled only by the last model Lancia Delta (year 1993/4).

But if you also include factory competition cars, the highest power non-turbo 1995cc 16v engine appeared in the Lancia 037 Rally (year 1982) with up to 310 hp (231 kW) - and 325 hp (242 kw) a year later (but with a bored-out 2111cc).

There's some data in the book on valve diameters and lift, plus cam timing, but only for the earlier cars up to the late 1990's (year).

Fuel injection was introduced in 1979 on the Fiat 124 Spider, and all cars with fuel injection have an ECU, but only very primitive versions in the early cars.

Thanks for the info, I already have a digital copy of Guy Croft's book,it is very detailed but it mostly focuses on carbeurated engines from 1980s.I knew that there is one similar book but didn't know the author's name.

The "Twin-Cam Italia" book was an update to the earlier (1992) "Fiat and Lancia Twin-Cams". In the mid 1980's Phil, Guy and I were all on the committee of the Fiat Twin-Cam Register which later morphed into the Sporting Fiats Club. Things were different then!
