just wondering what my car is worth, i know what i put into it and its alot more than it is worth, but we are mad
1995 16vt in blitz blue,76k (genuine),new top and bottom end(head,valves,piston rings,bearings etc etc),cadamuro kit,ms design grill spoiler,17 alloys (new 215s),alu rings,ind kit,strut brace,new oil cooler and pipes,new water pump,supersprint exhaust,bailey dump valve,new omp clutch,new omp vented/grooved/drilled discs,new greenstuff pads all round,6 disc cd,samco hose set.

i probably have left something out,but after writing that list i have got the hump as i dont want to add the extras up

Unfortunately I'd say closer to 3K.

see this is the thing about these cars price fluctuates terribly.dasher i see your a newbee and have probably got your car for a good price (16v <3k) but i sold a 96 yellow 16v with 104k on the clock at xmas for 4.5k.i certainly wouldnt sell my blue 16vt for 3k i would put it back to standard and still look for more than 3k for it.i have been around this forum since early 2001 and i have seen some mad prices low and high.if im not mistaken davedub wanted 10k for his 20vt and he was told he was mad so he put the price up (personally dave your car probably is worth that).we look at prices in the uk for a modded 20vt average 3.5k,so by the time you get it back her its 5.7k euro,200 flight,100 petrol to holyhead,250 for boat,1300 vrt, calculate your day or two time off when you should be making money and all of a sudden your over 8k and thats before you do the timing belt etc all of a sudden daves car dont look so dear ps forgot to put the two stops at the magic chef 30 euros ;\)

I should probably change my personal data. I'm a returner more than a newbee. I joined the old forum in 2005 after buying a 1 owner '98 Irish sprint blue 20VT with 58K on her.
I bought it for 8K but did sell her over a year later for more than that. Still regret it!
So I agree, prices can be a bit weird and it depends on the market at the specific time I suppose. Looking at our market at the moment, most of the cars for sale have been for sale for months so very little interest. But this could change at any time.
Also, to me and many other people an original car is worth more than a modded one so mods are better off removed in my opinion.
I don't want to talk prices down here, just giving my honest opinion. If my car is worth 4.5K you may see it in carzone in the near future and I'll import a good 20VT with jobs done for 6K on the road.

the one i sold at xmas to bird living near me was in very good condition and she only wanted it in lellow no other colour so i might have been a bit lucky but in saying that it had new exhaust, tyres, nct, wishbones, brakes, battery, service and timing belts just done by me not like some of the dogs that have been for sale and will sit there for that reason.
on the modded/unmodded i think your right alot of people just want them bog standard, thats one of the reasons why i am contemplating selling the blue one i have (plus im nearly forty ).i have another yellow one with a clonk on the bonnet but i have a brand new bonnet for it and thats bog standard so would probably suit me better \:D
i suppose its like your house you will never know until the day you sell it what its worth and thats only at that specific point in time.ps wasnt trying to be funny about the newbee thing just i have watched the prices of these for a good number of years and at one time had four of them in my drive at one time cheers glenn

The fact that the 6 coupes have been sitting on carzone.ie for months must say something? Unrealistically priced?

there is six on carzone at the mo but only two have been around for any period of time the silver one in sandyford which i have looked at myself,a bit of a dog and the price has fluctuated up and down, the other is the green one 96 and i asked him what was his rock bottom and he never came back to me (good way to sell a car ).the others are not on it that long in selling terms of any vehicle in this country at the mo.it seems to me that alot of cars are being dumped on the market just because some dealer gives them a shit price so they think thats all its worth.i bought a mercedes ml 320 for very low 20s,put 1500 euro into it,kept it for 6 mths advertised it for 4mths and got 28k for it.id say four mths wasnt too long for 4.5k profit and the people i bought it were only glad to give it to me because they could only get 20k off any garage and didnt want the hassle of trying to sell it private and thats whats happening to alot of people at the moment i wonder how much that ml would have been on the forecourt for in any of these garages 30 to 32k ono.i do agree with you that some cars can be overpriced at they will stick but what i find very interesting is that now you can buy some cars in ireland cheaper than what you can import it for from the uk and that tells a different story as to prices over here and weve paid 30% more in the first place \:s
ps just remembered the last time i looked at coupes for sale on carzone there was seven the two up above i just mentioned and five others that are now sold ?? so someone i hope is still buying them.

A few do seem to have come up and sold recently alright. The porto one though has been for sale for about a year and the 98 red 20V for a few months. There is a good chance these are dogs alright. Will be interesting to see how the recently posted silver LE and 00 red 20V get on.
There is also a blue 95 16V on CBG for at least the last six months for 4K.
I suppose bottom line is that a very good example should still sell for good money.
Only one way to find out though. Good luck!
