the handbook for my 16vt mentions it, not sure what "extras" it was supposed to have

i always thought that the 16VT pluses where all abroad

In some countries, the 16V and 16VT "Plus" came with such extras as....leather rimmed steering wheel

Every 16v/16vt is a "plus" in Britain.

Kayjey's range guide indicates leather, aircon and 16 inch rims as being the differences between 16vt and 16vt plus.

Sounds like a contintental thing as I thought all Brit 16vt's had 16" rims, but not necessarily Air and leather?
