Arrived at about 12.15 to a fine and dry Stanford Hall. I thought in general the overall turnout was good with two exceptions, the coops and the ferraris, which was a shame. Big turnout from the Fiats, Abarths, Alfas and Maseratis though. The 3 coops in the concours were lovely, congrats guys.

Any pics of Taffy MUST be posted up, it's in the forum rules somewhere laugh

Must say mrc, you look a very friendly bloke, judging by that photo smile

I wasn't there today, due to work, but for future reference, I'm the chunky miserable looking b!tch that usually has a ciggie hanging out of her mouth laugh

Hey guys, don't want to make this into a big thing. We did have a list on here of who was going but perhaps we should get some id vinyl stickers made up or something or maybe have a text number to say, "Hello,we're here!" The gazebo was a good idea but as Matt said, there was no way to identify it was the club's. (After all, there were little pockets of Coupes dotted around) I'm sure that had I known who you were Begbie then we would have met. I know that a club rep's task is arduous and thankless. (I've done it enough times)

I suspect poor Mr Begbie (Our club president) has not currently got a club Banner. We have been passing the banners out to our club regional reps, unfortunately none of them could attend Stanford this weekend frown

All the club regional reps are slowly being provided with a club Gazeebo and banner so you should see an official club presence at more UK car events.

hi guys, I must admit, despite the weather I made it down quite early, found everyone to be quite friendly but was quite shy in introducing myself. Didn't quite know where to park either as I didn't know if the lineup of Coops were in the show or just parking there, I ended up at the bottom of the hill parked next to a very nice silver LE.
The tent was always empty when I made my way back, but I must admit I felt sorry for the guys trying to wipe off the raindrops in the pouring rain... so understood people were a bit busy.
Sorry I didn't get to talk to any of you, but will be at other events in the year, and will make a better effort when I get over myself.
Hi to the guy in the porto that was arriving just when I was leaving (headed off around mid-day, as I think we'd seen just about everyhting by then).

This friendly thing is a two way street and you will only ever get back what you are prepared to put in. If you come away from an event and can't name three other people that were there then I suggest that perhaps you wern't being as friendly as you may think wink At Spa this weekend I will be doing my best to meet and greet as many of the new faces as possible.

Sorry Bob but I had probably had enough by then. When you've been blanked all morning you're going to get a little peeved. I remember going to the club tent to ask for a pen from somebody to fill in the people's vote form for the show and shine and I was practically grunted at! I didn't mean to have a go at any one person and I know it's difficult to get round everyone etc etc. I remember going to the event before we'd even found this forum (back in the days when we had the 16v) and nobody from the coupe camp was very friendly then. At the time I thought it was because everyone was in the club and knew each other and we were outsiders. Now, however, I've been conversing on here for ages and thought we'd broken the ice a little. smile I think it's a distinctly English thing to be afraid to have the balls to go up and talk to people so perhaps I will try harder but when I did that last year and asked someone if they were familiar with the forum, they were really quite snobby with me and told me who they were like I should have automtaically known them (they turned out to be a well known member wink ).

In short, I'm sorry Bob.

Also, I can name about a dozen people from last years event - none of them coupe owners unfortunately so don't tell me I wasn't trying hard enough to be friendly tongue

We got there about 9.30 in the pouring rain and didn't leave until about 3.30. However, this did have something to do with my 2 year old finding a rope swing in the woods which we kept having to revisit !

Not the best turnout ever for a Stanford Hall, but it was ok.

Ah, was that you parked next to me? I remember hearing someone say 'come on then, lets go to the park' and a little girl running over and grabbing my bonnet lol!

I'm jealous, If I knew there were swings I'd of been on them like a shot LOL.

Apologies Guys but I wimped out..........Basically I left work in the Coupe 20:00 Friday and it never stopped raining on the car until 12:00 Sunday where we are. Could not justify hauling my 7 and 2 year olds out in the rain after that.... Well done to all those that went - the cars looked great. Consoled ourselves by going out shopping to Touchwood in Solihull and parked next to an unbelievablby stunning black F599 Fiorano cloud9.............next year....

I thought it was a surprisingly good turn out for the weather! Especially from the Maserati owners.

I'll try and get pics up soon as pos.

Didn't turn up in a Coupe but when we came over to the tent everyone seemed very friendly and approachable, big thanks to Alexis for bringing along some bits for me and organizing in some really crappy weather.

Congrats to some incredibly straight and tidy Coupes - quite glad mine wasn't on the road as it would have been put to shame wink
