I have a blitz sbc id electronic boost controller installed for almost 18 months. Recently my settings got erased.
Can anyone (Doctor Fragg where art thou ?) help me with the settings for the blitz sbc controller installed in a Fiat Coupe 20vt plus? ie the ratio and gain settings.

Hi drjeeva, good to see you are still around!

Well, these are the manual settings that you can use for the Blitz dual SBC typeS and typeR, but can also be used for the SBC-ID, although that also has an 'auto' funtion.

Gain of between 10-20, 20 being harder faster, but more likely to give overboost.
Ratio of anything , this is the ratio of the maximum boost pressure the system is capable of, so anywhere between 40-80 is usual, giving boostl levels of 0.8-1.4 bar roughly ,depending upon your setup. Make sure you set the limiter first before you do anything else

regards

Joe

Hi Doc, thanks for the info. Happy to see you are still active in this forum. It's a real pity that so much information is lost...hopefully some of the tuning tips can be retrieved.

i run my gain at between 10 and 20 too, run a setting of 40Gain, gives me a peak of 1Bar for everyday driving havent managed to have anymore time to play with it so i havent worked out my settings to get a peak of 1.25, but i would defo set the limiter!

Just trying to set mine up as well. For 1.25 bar I am currently using set 52 and gain 14. The way the roads are at the moment I'm going to go for a lower setting, maybe 30 ish with gain of 10 or so.

Have just fitted my Blitz Spec S this weekend. Couln`t believe how easy it was to wire up and what a nightmare it was to fit the controller into the ashtray
But it does look sweet now that its there
My settings are ratio set at 30,40,50 and 52 with a gain of 20 which gives me a peak boost of, on average 1.21bar. When I get chance though I will try increasing the gain which will mean that I will have to reduce the ratio slightly. I don`t have an induction kit fitted but just a drilled airbox and K&N Panel filter so don`t really want to exceed 1.2ish bar.

I use 52 for 1.2 bar and gain of 25 for faster spool up

I've got four "Channel" settings dialled in at roughly 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3bar (set/gain 20/14, 40/18, 50/18 and 62/10). I almost always run the base setting though, which is about 265bhp.

I've carried on with Fishy_Dave's tradition in this respect, but I guess it's ok to run higher peak boost than this more often because of the Evo FMIC and spot-on fuelling via Unichip?

Nope, I never really got to grips with it, its meant to add or subtract a preset boost pressure for a period of time once you reach a preset limit????, its intended to be able to extend the boost curve of the turbo. Its very crude comapred to the Apexi rev based gain that is available on the AVC-R.

If you want to fit aux inputs here is the pin diagram for the harness (costs 30 quid but you can make it for pennies):

I notice that most of you guys are using the manual settings. Why not use the auto function ie set the boost pressure and play around with different gain settings?
drjeeva.

I'm having a mare with my setup!

Dialled in 55/12 for what i though might get be around 1.2Bar. On full boost i was only getting 1.0Bar. Eventually had to wind it all the way up to 66/12 (found 70 gave me 1.34Bar.. Whoops!)

66/12 Gave a nice solid 1.19Bar on the way to work. However on the way home i found i could only get 1.0Bar again using the same settings.

What's going on?!

sparco - it should be under the 'warning' option IIRC. Have you got an english manual?

yellafella - No. I'm seeing Rog on Friday to get it installed.

Do you think i'm setting boost leak with the standard IC?

yes I'd say that was it Kenno

You were probably getting better boost in the early, colder, morning compared to later in the day.
