Hi all

I currently drive a 350z which I love but we have recently had a baby and im looking at saving a bit of cash for a bigger house. I was looking at getting a Coupe for a little while as a cheaper but fun alternative. Ive always liked these cars despite their marmite looks but I no nothing about them. Im going to do a bit of research on here and hopefully throw up some ideas. Ive got my eye on a yellow one on Auto trader which is only £1400 which would do me fine, however coming from 350z uk forum I do have the modding bug and I have just seen Bosa's stunning yellow one so theres definately a lot you can do with these little pocket rockets.

If anyone has any recommendations or Coupes for sale i'd love to hear from you.

Chris

Welcome, you are certainly in the right place to learn so by being here is the best start you could have. The Z is a good car, a few members often change from the coop to the Z, I used to own a Z a phase 2 296 bhp GT convertible, but I couldn't get comfy in it, so sold up.

Buying a coop will depend a lot on what your budget is, there are some good ones and some dogs, as always do your research and you will find a good one. If you look in the cars for sale section there is one for sale by Rog20VT, if your budget is £4k this would be a great purchase.

Cheap Coupes are almost certainly cheap for a reason. There's no such thing as an expensive Coupe (at least not for the initial purchase price, anyway)

Be very careful - its all to easy to get sucked into buying something that "needs a bit of TLC" - its only when you start digging deeper that you realise that "TLC" can easily be replaced with "£0,000s"

Have a read of this thread about the perils of buying cheap

Oh - welcome to the forum - it would be interesting to hear your comparisons against the 350Z once you've bought a Coupe - two very distinctive cars, but hugely different in terms of execution

I bought what looked and sounded (to my untrained eye) like a mint 20vt for £2000 and promptly had to shell out another £1000 on repairs a week later. You get what you pay for, if you can, buy one from someone on here, it should have been looked after properly, which is the key to a good coupe.
