Was starting to run lean so bought a set of grey 515cc injectors. Well - unless you have it mapped with the new injectors, it will run VERY rich - 515cc is 56% bigger than standard, so it will almost certainly run like a dog with very poor fuel consumption and possible bore-wash

Yeah the injectors are not fitted yet. Will be fitted during my live map.
Bmc induction kit MAF conversion Gt28rs toyybo Front mount intercooler Intercooler water spray Gas flowed throttle body Ported and gas flowed inlet manifold Ported and gas flowed cylinder head inlet ports Custom snake head downpipe Decat pipe Walbro 305 l/h external fuel pump 4 bar pressure regulator Lancia delta integrale 384cc injectors 515cc waiting* ngk iridium spark plugs heat 7 Currently running a stage 1 g-tec chip
Thinking the stage 2 chip would at least help the lean running? Fc performance have stated i req a stage 4 live map.... ?

stage 4 map sounds right.
i dont think you need injectors THAT big...
sound like the ones you have should do the trick.
Nigel had the 16vt injectors on his at around 400 bhp..

Well i bought bigger as i was told by extreme motorsport during the rolling road that they were maxing out...
What scope are the 16vt injectors? And colour?

I think they are 440's - up to about 450 bhp. Not sure of colour.
It all depends on who is mapping the car, and how they are going to do it.

The 515cc injectors would be enough for 480bhp, so you don't need to go that big. The 384cc injectors at 4bar pressure will be flowing circa 450cc, so again more than enough for the GT28RS setup. You can't "max" 450cc below 420bhp, unless of course the fuel pump was not up to the job, which would be the opposite of max... it would be starvation!
The problem is not the injectors or the fuel system, it is the fact the ECU has no clue about the changes you have made! The only way you can make bigger injectors work for you i.e. utilise the extra fuel they can provide, is with a remap, and not only that a good remap. It requires the correct calibration of the ECU so that it now sees the injectors as normal, just like the standard chip (or G-Tec) expects to see 330cc injectors @ 3bar, they are designed for nothing else.

untill you get a map... Stick up the fueling trace and we'll be able to tell you how safe the map is at the moment. To clarify - being careful as above would mean off boost, and certainly not redlining the car.

Hmmm... Starting to think ive wasted a lot of money on these grey injectors, thanks for all the help so far. Ive previously been talkin to leighton at fc performance about my spec... Guess the map if a must now!
Yeah marco... I'll be miss daisy driving till its done lol
Anyone know a good price id expect to pay for the live map?

384cc @ 3.8Bar will max at 380BHP with 100% duty. So as a rule of thumb I use 1cc per HP for 20VT.
Sice you already own 515cc I would drop back to 3Bar fuel pressure and get it re-mapped.

Will running the 515cc injectors at 3bar at least be driveable? When i briefly had them on with the 4bar reg it was a struggle to start and wouldnt rev. ??
Ofcourse map asap during this...

Sice you already own 515cc I would drop back to 3Bar fuel pressure and get it re-mapped. Jason, your maths is incorrect. In general terms the rule is sound for a 5 pot, but 1cc per HP would be 380cc @ 3bar = 380bhp. Injectors are rated at 3bar pressure, if you increase this to 3.8bar the injector will flow 440-450cc so that is your new target for maximum duty. This doesn't account for other forms of extra fuel e.g. methanol injection, which can act a a fifth injector.

Okay... Didnt know u were on here leighton.
If u could private mail me a quote for your work and al swap injectors etc to suit the live map? With my full spec previously stated.
Quite annoyed i have been tricked into buying these 515cc grey injectors!!
My fuel graph shows a sudden drop in fuel pressure from 3000rpm and continues to drop until 5600rpm.. I think until i can get the car live mapped i'll be driving another car..

This is not my maths but what I have found whilst mapping mine and Squids car on the RR. At 3.8Bar fuel pressure and using 384cc 16VT we both maxxed out with 100% injector duty at 380BHP (flywheel) using OMEX710 ECU, the same thing happened before at PT on the original motronic making 340BHP on the 330cc at 3.8Bar. We had to upgrade injectors and start the mapping process again . Luckily we done full throttle mapping first so found out we lost duty very early into the map. Since then my rule of thumb for the 20VT will be 1cc per HP at 3.8Bar going by the RR BHP figures I use.
