hi im new round here and also looking for some help

have a 20v turbo coupe which has different air filter, turbo back exhaust and a plug and play chip. car has now done a couple track sessions but keeps eating turbo oil seals

ive had a read up on here and i gather the de-cat has probably caused this so going to re fit it but what turbo should we buy for it this time ??

lee

A de-cat can be run with all but the standard turbo so your choice of what turbo to fit depends on what power you'd like to achieve. A hybrid t28 will be the next progression from the standard t28 if you'd like to achieve a moddest power gain.

Have a look here for information regarding supporting modifications;

Fit a hybrid (ball bearing), this will allow you to run the de-cat

firstly welcome to the forum..
the ball bearing units are the garrett gt series and will give quite an increase but need a lot of supporting mods..the hybrids are journal bearing though they have a 360 degree job and staggered gapped seals so you can run a decat without issue..you can run a smaller hybrid with standard set up but if you want a decent increase you need to think about filter ,front mount intercooler and maybe a slightly better exhaust but the most important thing really is getting a decent remap that alone with a hybrid will give you a much quicker car and although you can run generic chips a remap is the way to go..luckily the best coupe mapper anywhere lives and operates quite near you in bristol so check out fc performance on net he will sort you out and can get you whatever you need

Can't be full - he only registered yesterday - I wonder if newbies can't use the PM function - don't remember it being a problem

pm box should be fine now.

right ive spent an hour or so searching but not sure what im looking for.

just looking at spending few quid on replacing the turbo, not looking for big power upgrades with tons of supporting mods. just want a bolt on and go turbo that aint going to keep spitting seals out smile

for that price, why not just buy a stage 1,2,3 T28 hybrid from some one..

or speak to flea!

or look in the parts for sale!
