Here's how the story begins.....

NO. 1 - Booked the Coupe in for remap with Flea for today(30.10.2010). Borrowed a trailer yesterday, to find that the car didn't fit @ 17:05pm. Found a trailer to fit but had to recover it by 5:30 with no transport! With the help of a couple of neighbours, managed to get the trailer just in time and back to my house to get the car on it ready for the morning. Cost £42

NO. 2 - Set off at 4am for 185 mile trip to Bristol. All looking good and 10 miles before arriving at the dyno, was pulled over by the police suspecting the van we were towing in was not big enough to be carrying the trailer!! They did the usual checks, for me to only to find out I wasn't insured properly. Lucky me gets hit with 6 points and £200 fine!!! luckily my cousin and co-pilot was insured and they let him carry on and deliver it to our destination.

NO. 3 - An hour late and we eventually arrive and the car goes straight onto the dyno. Flea worked his magic and the car was running @ 271.2 bhp / 276.2lbft. On his last run just to fine tune the car, unfortunately, the auxilary belt of death snapped frown We stopped the car and took the wheel off to check if it had gone into the cambelt. After removing the snapped belt, Flea said I was lucky and suspected no further damage. However, after taking it out onto the road to give it a last once over, we got a phone call only a minute later to say he needed to be towed back in. The car would not start, as a result of the valves being bent. now with an expected repair cost of £400

Total cost of the day - £175 remap
£80 dyno
£80 fuel
£200 fine (+ 6 points)
Total £535

+ cost of repair now - approx £400!!!

Not a very happy bunny at all!!!!

I took the car off the road because it wasn't running right and a number of other reasons , so before i got the car MOT and put it back on the road wanted to get it remapped and running right

He would probably have done it anyway as they don't like to be re-tensioned.
The power steering one will also have been replaced.

sod the engine, the 6 points are going to cost in terms of increased insurance premiums over the next 5 years.
