Hi peeps. We had the red baron Mr Schumacher in work a couple of days ago for a seat fit of this years car. While he was in I started talking to him about my coupe and that it had blown a rod. His very germanic answer was why not buy a car with that sort of power to start with...
Anyway I asked him about the coupe he had when at Ferrari. He said he remembered having one for a couple of months. I asked if it was a chrono grey colour, which is the colour of LE No1 and he seemed to think that the one he had was Red. This also makes more sense with the Ferrari link.
I don't believe he ever had No1, question is which one did he have...may not have even been an LE at all.

Im pretty sure he owned Speed Red LE041... Infact lets all start that as the new rumor...

Did you inform him that there are not many cars out there with over 350 BHP as standard which cost less than £5k? You never know, he might have felt a bit bad about his lack of tact and given you a few grand...

well I started the conversation in the hope that he may have sorted me out with a new engine from Fiat but I didn't push it. I did say that I don't have a spare 30k to buy a 400bhp car in the first place. I work for mercedes gp. He remembered, the man said he had a red one so I believe him.

so the LE0001 is only special as its first off the line..

No you all have it wrong, when I met him last year he said it wasn't a red LE it was a red plus. When I bought my car I wondered why I found Heir Michies credit card and an "I hate DC letter" "in the "secret compartment" unfortunately it had expired thought

And because it's a plus you need to add on the "plus premium" so mine is up for sale at £15000

Nope, you've all got it wrong, it was actually a steel grey R Reg 20vt. He even put a dent in the rear quarter, and said it added character and value to it. Bids start at 20k

I believe it was LE 18 he owned and thats why I can justify to myself its worth spending all this money on it

Here is the thing, Schumi gets paid to rag the nuts off a (then) 1000bhp F1 car, at speeds over 200mph, mind boggling levels of grip, phenomenal brakes etc, then, as a token gift, he gets given a coupe.

Now, being a reasonably quick car, he will get in it, thrash the living daylights out of it, bring it to within an inch of its life, then get bored, and it ends up for sale.

How can a car that will almost definetly have been deemed not good enough for herr schumacher, and probably barely still holding itself together suddenly be worth so much cash?

I would imagine any car schumi has had would be worth considerably less after he has finished with it!!

Surely it's easy to end the speculation whether he had an LE. Even if he's hazy about the colour, next time he's in just ask him if he felt he was in a whores boudoir when he sat in it!

Persnally I would hope that if it had been a Plus he'd had, he would have found the whole experience far more memorable.
