Just wondering what’s the best metal pedals with grip for the Coupe?

Seen a lot of mention about Sparco pedals – not sure what type though?

Nowt wrong with the standard pedals - I've never had an issue with lack of grip on them

Metal pedals just add weight...

Feet keep slipping off the pedals when wet.

The current pedals are bare metal.

Only the throttle should be bare metal - the clutch and brake should have rubber covers

Grip pedals and screws. They are the same as the LE pedals

Sorry to hijack this thread. I seem to remember that you can only fit the brake and clutch pedal facias?

Been meaning to buy a set of these for ages.

Well just found out my order has been cancelled by Motorsport World as the pedals are no longer available so they are unable to supply these.

Better try somewhere else.

Good luck, when I needed a set I realy struggled frown They kept sending "Reflex" pedals irked Your best bet is to get some on Ebay. At least you know what you see is what you get smile

ST212, I have just replaced an old set with some new ones bought on eBay (£26.00 from memory), as discussed earlier they are identical to the old set but have a backing rubber pushed through the pedal instead on individual rubber studs (which had mostly worn after about 10 years (80k miles)- so not too bad I thought. BTW you will need to drill through the existing pedal to mount them and get the 50mm clearance bewteen pedals. Have a look tomorrow at mine at the car fair- see you then.

These are the new style grip ones that are narrower than the LE ones and have the different one piece grip instead of the individual studs that I mentioned in my other thread.

Will be interesting to see what you think of them once you fit them.

Having had the old style (stud) type and now fitted the new ones I can say I have found no appreciable difference. Also hadn't noticed any change in dimensions- I'll go and check!!

The new backing rubber fits well but obviously will need to be replaced once some of the studs are worn rather than individual studs on the old style pedals. Hopefully Sparco will sell the spare rubbers (but don't hold your breathe!)

A previous owner has fitted 'Ripspeed' pedals to my coop hurl

They're okay feel-wise so I've kept them. I just hate the name!

Installed them today.........well the clutch & the brake pedals. The drill had no problem getting through the pedal metal.

But the accelerator was the difficult one, was only able to make a indent. Any one have a idea what metal it is or recommended type of drill piece?

Metal is a complete pain to drill, however it can be done. use a nail as a makeshift centre punch with something jammed behind to make a indent.Start with a small pilot hole then work your way up to there required size.Take it slow to keep the heat down on the tip. Use any oil as you drill to cool the tip of the drill. I used cobalt drill bit but any hss drill-bits should do. I fixed my sparco pedal on the accelerator on only the top 2 holes because of the bar behind.

The Sparco Grip pedals fitted OE to the LE's does not include the Accelerator. Its Brake and Clutch only. I bought a set recently purely to refurbish the rubber studs which wear out and cannot be purchased seperately. Anyone with these should check the bolts - when I went to remove mine they were quite loose.
