As the club had arranged a day here after the AGM I thought I would go along, but was unsure of whether or not to have a couple of runs, didn't take much persuasion from JBT and MattM to get me to sign up.

The day could have gone better, I was terrible at getting my launches right and still hadn't after 4 runs. I only did 4 runs, as on the 4th run, the clutch pedal decided to stick to the floor when going from 2nd to 3rd, so decided to leave that as my last run, as I had well over a 4 hour journey back home and didn't fancy a broken gearbox and an annoyed girlfriend smile

So the results :

Reaction 60ft 1/8 ET 1/8 MPH 1/4 ET 1/4 MPH
1.3449 5.5399 9.1330 87.3600 13.4900 111.1200
0.9769 2.5550 9.1699 86.5400 13.5290 111.1800
0.9481 2.5937 9.2449 86.5300 13.6078 111.1100
1.0551 2.5900 9.4410 73.1400 14.2499 106.5700

You will see the 60ft for the first run was 5.5 seconds, but that is actually my 0 - 60mph time, as they can measure this at York.

First run was against JBT (who beat me), 2nd run was against MattM (who I beat), 3rd run was against a Sierra Cosworth, who launched better than me, but I reeled him in and beat him, final run was against a Nitrous'd mustang who I was catching up, but my clutch pedal decided to stick to the floor when going from 2nd to 3rd.

I'm sure JBT and MattM will post there times up in due course, if not, I know you can get them off York Raceway's website

Great day,and Alexis your car is mental.

My best run was my last where i went up against what looked to be a stock Ink black plus.
Never met the guy before and still dont know who he is but he was on my 1/4 panel the whole length of the 1/4 mile.

Best time was a 13.07 with a reaction time of 0.7 and a 0-60 in 4.7 seconds.
Not bad for a 15 year old car on road tyres.

I would guess that Santa pod would offer around half a second advantage over York raceway for initial traction, but never the less i had a great day and 6 runs.

MattM had 11ish runs and lost every one laugh including being beaten by an MR2 and a Seat Leon laugh laugh laugh

Road tyres? I think you mean track day tyres tongue As for the other guy, that was Sherlock. He posted in the coupe spotting section as I saw him up the road after I left.

Yes was me you raced against johnnybravoturbo, think we both did 13.1's but you just beat me to the line.

I cant remember the last time I saw a coupe on the road so was surprised to see one (begbie) out in the sticks and even more surprised to find a car park full of them, I didnt realise there was a club event on.

The track isnt the best and everyone I've spoken to generally get there best times at santa pod , but the bit every one was launching off is the good bit, normally rwyb cars have to launch off the concrete nearer the lights and the good bit is for the proper competative racing, it is pretty sticky - I went to do a burnout and nearly stalled the car!

I was so close to a 12 sec run when I last ran my car, this time I went there with it stripped out, I dont know why I bothered taking the door cards and other trims off because it really doesnt weigh much, maybe 10kg at the most. Well worth taking the passenger and back seats out though.

I did 10 runs, the best being

12.80 @ 116mph - 4.65 0-60 mph
12.72 @ 115mph - 2.2 60ft
12.90 @ 117mph - 4.89 0-60 mph
12.88 @ 116mph - 4.81 0-60 mph

Begbie those are good times off bad 60fts, what was it doing bogging down or massive wheel spin

Wheel spin followed by me backing off by taking my foot of the throttle, which then causes it to bog down. What power are you running as you have got some good times there?

Nice video's T cool

Sherlock,
For some reason it said on the slips that you beat me.
I was in the right lane yet my slip is different to the website?

Begbie thats one loud dumpvalve, I also found it hard launching I normally go from 4500rpm but was bogging down so I just went for the boot it aproach.
Mines running 430bhp @ 6000rpm I still need to get it back on the rolling road but I guess its going to be 450+ bhp.

Johnnybravoturbo on that run I did a 13.13 against your 13.15, but its the first across the line who wins the race. You got a better reaction time than I did so finished the 1/4 mile 0.2984 secs before me.

shouldn't it be 0.02984?? 0.3 of a sec at those speeds would surely be at least a car length??

Nick

368bhp @ 1.5 bar

Close one though.
I had no idea what power you were running as the car looks stock from the outside.
I think on that basis my best run was against you time wise and reaction time although i got a better 0-60 against Begbie i think.

Its 0.3 sec at the start line when the speeds are low not at the end of the 1/4 mile

This was my last run of the day, just a bit quicker off the line than me

11.2 @ 120 mph and 13.1 @ 117 mph
