Well, this weekend I'm making a promise to myself; I'm going to try and stay awake through a whole race, mainly thanks to it being shown on BBC and I won't be forced to watch a dodgy stream from Sweden or wherever else someone manages to upload the video! Have we got predictions for qualifying and the podium? Based upon the fact that the first seven races have produced seven different winners perhaps it is Schumacher's turn? Nah, I doubt it too! Qualifying; 1. Lewis 2. Vettel 3. Alonso Podium; 1. Button 2. Alonso 3. Vettel Then again, what do I know, my predictions so far have been as accurate as an Irish striker at the Euro 2012 football! Fill your boots folks........

MSC to crash out for sure... and tehn moan like crazy.
Button I can't see turning things around this season, even he is admitting he doesn't know whats wrong...
I also can't see a 8th different winner, however if there is then....
Quali -
1. Hamilton 2. Perez 3. Webber
Race -
1. Perez 2. Hamilton 3. Vettel
Vettle will only do enough to get to Q1 and then not qualify bother until the race as he has been doing recently.

I wish you luck, Stan. Valencia is an absolute snoozefest. At least Monaco has some glitz. Its the only race of the season i don't make a point of watching.
Quali 1. Alonso 2. Hamilton 3. Grosjean
Race 1. Perez 2. Hamilton 3. Alonso

I know we've seen it happen once before, for those with very long memories, in fact I seem to recall it was three cars that all set the same time but I can't recall the race/year?
It was the final race of 1997 - the one when Schumi tried to punt out Villeneuve for the title - Schumi, Villeneuve and Frentzen all did the same time in qualifying (I think it was those 3, I know Frentzen was definitely one of them).

The late 90s, IMO the best years for qualifying (during my time). Watching Hakkinen and Schumacher duelling for pole was more exciting than most GPs now As for the current quali system (where's the steaming turd emoticon when you want it)

Sounds spot on, and totally bizarre when it happened! It would have been amazing enough with two doing the same time, but all three? I can't recall how they resolved pole, did they have a shoot-out (not literally!)?

I can't recall how they resolved pole, did they have a shoot-out (not literally!)? I think it was resolved by putting them in the order they did it, i.e. pole went to the driver who got that time first. Since they were all exact to the thousandth of a second there was a suspicion of a timing glitch but I don't think it was ever confirmed.

Vettel and Ferrari and Alonso? is it just me or can you see problems with those egos? Having said that, I think we've seen a change in Alonso in the past few years, maturing maybe? It could certainly be a very powerful combination, but then again the pundits said the same about Lewis/Jenson...

Yeah but you cant blame Jenson, it's his tyres/brake balance/ oversteer/ understeer One of the reasons I like Button is that he is modest in victory and quicker than most drivers to acknowledge his own failings in being able to get the most out of a car when things aren't going well. I think people mistake his technical diagnosis for whinging. But you can't tell a hater...

I'm not a hater, far from it, but the fact is that Massa has outperfomed Button in 3 of the last 4 races. Yet it is still Massa who is the 'poor' driver, and Button who is the 'unlucky' one.

I'm no button hater, i quite like the guy, i'm just playing devils advocate here but, Button is a World Champion the same way Jacque Villeneuve is a world champion, by having a car which is far superior to anything else on the grid.
In a more level playing field he has shown time and time again to be just-above-average (unless the conditions are changeable, when he is superb).
