Northampton abarth dealer wanted £560 for a 36k service on a 500 abarth. What a rip off. Oil, filter, plugs and brake fluid and that's before they pick up anything else that's worn. Took it to middle Barton abarth garage who are an independant specialist instead much happier.

Always better to find a good independent unless it messes up your warranty in case of a major failure thumb

Main dealer "servicing" is a joke. I remember we had an 8 month old 159 and I took it to the local Alfa dealer for the first service. They wanted similar money for what on examination basically appeared to be a load of "checks." As long as they use OE parts an independant should be able to satisfy the factory warranty. BTW Stevo I used to love popping into Middle Barton with my X1/9's... They had some great bits and pieces sitting around their shop and there was always something interesting being serviced. Motor-mech has always looked after our other modern Fiats and past Alfas.....

The place was full of old school fiat 500 abarth s etc, they had just sold a rare abarth coupe thing for quarter of a million apparently. Had lots of auto Italia magazines to read and a kettle to keep me entertained while I waited. Pretty happy with them.
