Ok, guys I have removed the le kit from my coupe as it was getting knocked around.

I plan to colour code the front bumper and sills. What I have found though is some of the textured finish is damaged and come away, would it be wise to remove the texture as I am sure this protects the sill.

Do you guys remove this when painting the sills? Or smooth somehow then spray..

Any pictures of your sprayed sills?

Regards reuben

Had the last of what turned into a complete respray finished about 2 weeks ago, which included the black strips on sills.

Some of the original black finish had come off to expose body colour underneath and they just painted on top, so it's still slightly uneven if examined very closely. The whole sill is textured, so any slight unevenness is lost in the texture unless you're *really* looking for it.

The paint has taken quite a long time to harden onto the black stuff though, that's about 2 weeks and I'd say it's only hardened sufficiently now that I'd risk driving at speed and not peeling the skin off the paint with stone chips.

I'm having the wheels refurb'd now but will post a few pics next week when it's all done.

A while back, probably February I got hit by a bus while at a stop light. Damaged my whole front left side: hood, bonnet, wing and door.

So I sent it to a full respray telling them I wanted the whole car including all the lower sills painted the original Rosso Speed.

Here is how it turned out. They managed to texture the front and back sills just like the side ones. The paint still holds and I didn't had any issues with it. I can provide with detailed photos if you'd like.
