Just polling for interest - any coop owners up for a North of England meet?

I was thinking late July/early August at Hartside Café - home of year round sunshine, God's own bacon butties and more motorcycles than you can shake a stick at.

I know we've got a few North-East, North-West and Borders Coupé owners (even if I never see any of them), so we could probably manage a decent turn-out.

Anybody up for it?

Dear monos, a secret truth.

Heartside is our play ground, not to mention right on our back doorstep. It would be rude not to attend this laugh

The last few coop meets I've attended, apart from the initial drive there, there's not really being much in the way of a "drive" at all confused

It used to be 99% about the drive/convoy, the very reasons we own our cars. we should really make the most of this. The lakes meets in the past (5-6 years ago) used to be epic! When the hills we're alive with the sound of..... dumpvalves, exhaust pop, tyre squeel and 5 pot loveliness laugh

Anybody traveling far or even if you've never never being to the lakes before, the roads and scenery make it worth it alone smile

I for one really hope this meet goes ahead Andrew thumb do you have any possible dates in mind?

just joined and absolutely up for that, great road and on my doorstep!

used to have a puma and really enjoyed a good group trundle, but now have the car that I have always lusted after and fancy meeting up with folk on some of our great cumbrian roads!

Guys,

We just spent the last week in a rented cottage just up the road near Lambley. We did a lot of touring and walking in the area and also visited this Café, what fantastic views over Cumbria & Scotland cool

What I would say is that the A686 back down to Alston (Sadly not the smartest town in the area) and then on to Whitfield is a fantastic drivers road evil The road was near empty all this week, but we were unable to fully enjoy it due to being in a 1.3 Diesel Grande Punto. We did though spot a few bikers and an old Mini "Enjoying" the route hehe I'm a bit surprised the Top Gear team have never filmed up there...

Am pretty new to the site and to owning my coupé. I still haven't met another owner so would be happy to take the 2hour drive up from Manchester just to meet other coupé owners and a little blast. So if the dates are confirmed would be very interested.

Id be up for this, travelling from Manchester too; subject to me not working on the date.

Must hurry and get my wheels refurbished.

Especially since Brian Johnson once mentioned it on one of the shows as one of the best driving roads.

If my car is back together and working as it should be, I'd be up for this, but sadly don't think i'll have it done in the short time needed frown

Does anyone know if the B6277 from Alston heading towards Darlington is a smooth enough ride? Its just that its a 90 minute run to Darlington (55 mile) and there's a choice of

nostalgia racing at Croft circuit

Sunday 4th August.

Details HERE

If people just fancy parking cars and relaxing instead there's the Barney Market Town to get some more decent pics

Detail HERE

We came back down that road. There are some nice bits early on but the lower down the valley you get the more busy & less interesting it becomes. There are a Couple of nice, if a bit busy, towns on the route. It's always good for the Coupé convoy to pass through towns & villages smile

I would like just a driving road, don't mind a cruise through the odd town/village, its to be expected on any convoy.

I can do another date, I'm happy with a meet up, convoy and bite to eat after smile

Think with it being AndrewR's thread he should have final shout on date.

Right people, as some of you may be aware, AndrewR is now "coopless" so if anybody wants to take over organising this, feel free before this thread dies...

Is anybody still up for this?

I'm busy through this period now so unable to become involved I'm afraid. With Hopetoun House not running this year it looks like Mezzaluna next at Christmas (hopefully) smile

hello people is anyone still up for the original idea from AndrewR about a meet/cruise to the Hartside Cafe???

was thinking early August - sat 3rd or sun 4th
sat 10th or sun 11th

if anyone has any other ideas or dates stick them on. not been anywhere in the coupe recently and think a blast up north would be a laugh

Hi I'd be we'll up for this.

Personally 10th or 11th is better for me and maybe allows other people to make necessary plans.

Make me a 3rd yes for 10th/11th (if another 2 members or more are up for it). 5 or more coupes is worth turning up for in my book

Cant really say no to 4 out of 5 could I?

You never know we might get a random last minute visitor

I can make my way to Café (up for either day) but be nice if its not too early as its good 3 hour for me... Say 10.30-11am arrival?
