in my case i've lived most of my adult life driving boring company diesel cars trying to avoid getting too many points on my licence. i've only been on track twice driving, once at Spa last year and once at curborough at the AGM. what i've started to try and do is go out with a few of the experienced drivers to see if i can get any hints - but then when it's your car and your adrenaline it's a different matter!! also, at my age, there are so many ways to meet my maker!!!!! i do need to add that i intended this to be a bit of a track car, but £13k later of issues i'm trying to build up a few quid back!!!

I still regard the Coupe as a wonderful GT; she is NOT a racing car in anything resembling standard form, and is certainly not a dragster. I admire the cojones of anyone risking their beloved Coupe on the 1/4 mile, but they do need deeper wallets than I have . I love my Coupe(s) too much to subject them to that abuse - too many get towed home. Mine got towed home from my son's school , and I was NOT doing 140mph! I concur with the drag comment, however subtle handling mods and she makes a very fine track car, at a performance per pound level virtually unmatched I would say. And if you are in possession of a large pair of testicles, even more so Still not been towed home from a track, only twice in about 20 have I had to call the RAC, both on the way home, once when my intercooler pipe fell off about 10 miles outside Bristol after doing Castle Combe. Ok, admittedly I gave it a little bump which loosened it when I chose the scenic route on the track... But hardly an expensive repair. Secondly in mid wales after Anglesey, but again not an expensive repair. Hope not to have cursed myself ahead of Silverstone this Friday

I have to say that even though the performance is good on a Coupe, not all of us buy them just for that. Some of us appreciate the looks/styling of the car and being part of a great club like this one. I usually say I'm scared of going on a track, but I'm not, what I'm scared of is damaging my car or someone elses. My car is also my every day car and I need it, so can't afford for it to be off the road. Anyway, I'm booked for Spa next year, so WILL be on track on the Coupe only sessions, so hopefully, you'll all keep away from me What does scare me the most though, is driving on the 'wrong' side of the road

I cant even afford the expenses of getting on the track in the first place, let alone if it broke while I was out there! I'll join in with my LP670-4SV in a few years time

Hi My name's Shakespeare and I work for Shakespeare County Raceway, Stratford-Upon-Avon as the track's Club Liasion man. We recently joined your forum to ask if we could could contribute and to flash up our dates for 2011. Then I stumbled upon this thread. Sounds like you all had some fun with a great turnout of cars. May I suggest that you consider running the next Big Gun Shootout at Shakey next year with one of our Public Track Days. We don't get the volume of vehicles that Santa pod gets but we're always there to help out so that clubs such as yours enjoy their day without the pain of having to wait in long queues and not being able to watch the racing at the same time. We can help organsie a club thrash out such as this. Run a knockout elimination, give you club space. Anything like that. Just have a look at some of the PTD dates on offer and get in touch with me on 01789 720180 or e-mail enquiries@shakespearecountyraceway.co.uk. We're here for the club members. Oh and btw MCMIKE I live in Sutton Coldfield too. You may have seen my road car with Shakespeare County Raceway plastered all over it. Hear from you guys soon.

Would this 'Tolga' be tolga20VTURBO? His coop was noisy and quick, but certainly not 12.2 quick at the Essex meet. In fact it was a bit slower than mine and a fair bit slower than R1Dan's (350bhp) when we had a few blasts. Maybe he's done some more work, combined with the apparently sticky surface there... Essex Meet Dan was pushing him up the road at 1:30 and at 1.41 you can see the turning point when he overtook me Few 'fly-bys' from the same day Very noisy (Diddy and the Coupé)
F****** b****** thing...

I remember you, I was there that day. You had a Sprint Blue coop, I was in the Moon Grey Plus with the Azev alloys, but did not run.
Everyone on here wanted to know about that day, but you never came on here anymore. Good to hear from you!

Yes - that was an expensive day 100 mile journey 3-hour wait (track was damp) £10 entry fee and £25 track fee The organisers had been treating the track with 'glue', which was giving spectacular traction. Unfortunately, when I side-stepped the clutch at 5,000rpm, the tyres just gripped, meaning that something else had to give One dead diff The replacement didn't last long either, so there's a Quaife in there now, but I shan't be doing any more RWYBs
