So the final nail in the coffin of F1 interest on here. Qualifying completed and still no thread.

I can't speak for everyone, but since it's become pretty clear that Vettel is likely to win the title again, I'm far less interested than I might be.
I'll still watch it, but I'm not bothered if I have to make do with highlights.
Roll on next season with the new regulations. ^^^ Totally agree, it's become a one fingered cringeworthy version of the Schumacher years. The whole emphasis on tyres is really irritating. I'd just like to see drivers race each other on the same tyres no strategy just pure and simple fastest driver wins. Will never happen obviously! Maybe next years EcoF1 will shake things up. I really hope it does, but I have to say the very fact of smaller engines and going v10>v8>v6 is losing my interest.

Yup agree with that!
The whole switch to 1.6 turbos is supposed to show how F1 can go Eco?

By the way Hamilton is on pole but says he has no chance as the tyres will fall off his car every 20 miles . What is the point?

So ideas which IMO spoil F1 the new qualifying, I much preferred the old 1 hour of hot laps, no fuelling, imploding tyres, DRS..and Vettel. I'm becoming less and less interested every season.

Do people only watch F1 for the front runners, I much prefer it when one of them starts at the back and races their pants off. The tracks, tyres and the odd smash up

It wasn't a dig Cooperman, I should have thought before coming on the thread, the result is often discussed post race!

I like Hamilton I like this season's Hamilton. He seems more mature, realistic... pessimistic even. To pull a win like this out of the bag is commendable. I still think Vettel will stroll to the title, but hopefully there will still be enough races left to give some excitement.

I think the split from Shirtslinger (sp?) may have helped too, she is almost as irritating to watch as Jessie Jay. At least he hasn't let it affect his driving this time..

he will continue to be a bit of a whinger Yes, but all the drivers are whingers, some you just hear more than others. Take the Vettel team message about Kimi for a start
Your car is Usain Bolt with wellies

Remember that Lewis and Nicole are no longer an item (after five years). I've heard somewhere that Nicole is shacked up with Proccy...... Maybe the finality of the split and the sight of her wearing a used purple jumper has concentrated the Hamilton brain on racing - it was definitely his best race of the year under difficult circumstances.

Much like Adolf Galland when Goering asked him what he needed to win the Battle of Britain - "I should like an outfit of Spitfires for my squadron"

I must admit I've never liked Lewis but after meeting him at Goodwood I've changed my thoughts about him. He is a decent bloke who spent time too have a chat with myself and my lad.

Have to say I am beginning to think DRS is a waste of time on some tracks and gives an undeserved advantage in some ways. Hamilton was on a mission and only the car blowing up would have stopped him winning. Vettel seemed unable to push as he usually does so maybe these new tyres have evened things a bit? At least it looks like we will have some competition / racing for second half of the season. Had to laugh at Alonso's birthday wish for someone else's car! I've always had a theory that DRS is only really effective at colder ambient temps, at hot tracks where the air is less dense there seems to be less of a kick!? Who knows!?
