Cool. I would do the lettering black too though.

Yes I kept saying that to myself but on reflection I think it might draw too much attention to itself

Nice job , of not black lettering then sand the back to silver , needs the lettering to stand out .

and I think you can get away with any self-colour along with bare metal. If I'd kept my coil pack cover as polished metal this would have worked well.

Picking out the lettering in black - something about this look, whilst it shows tlc, is warning me that it's OTT.

Also like the idea of polishing off the letter surfaces leaving yellow in between, but that leaves three colours - too fussy?

The original idea was to carry on the broad contrast of yellow and black but I could be misguided!

It's like food Simon, all down to taste. For me I went down the polished look.

Have to admit though, nobody sees my efforts until obviously the bonnet is open. I like to see a presentable engine bay. Apart from anything else it shows that you take pride in your vehicle, in turn, bit of an edge when selling time comes, well every little helps..... wink

I am going against the trend, but I like the cover as it is, looks clean and uncluttered in the Yellow.
Curious to see how it looks in situ

My point exactly. It's replacing one that's already been done that colour but has faded and begun to crack (just the paint).

I have to say that is one of the nicest engine bays I have seen, the new coolant bottle and the symmetry of the battery colour, I like how the pipe work is all black with out looking tarted up in yellows etc. very nice indeed.
