This post has been a long time coming.

I shall soon be cancelling my insurance.Chopping in my tax disc and putting the old coupé on axle stands ready to start cannibalising her. cry

Basically, she was a cat D right off years ago and long before my ownership.Apparently repaired back to standard...time has proven however that this was not the case! That and some power upgrades..

I've always noticed the tracking could never be 100% sorted whenever done.Only since I started tuning her last year did things start becoming problematic,ie, it became evident there was a lot of positive camber on the nearside front.Causing me to go through 4 pairs of new tyres in the last 18 months!!

So.the long and short of it is...I can no longer justify spending on her.Especially as she's bent. The cost of jigging is too much and as I have come to find out, quite often not guaranteed...

Be sad to see my pride and joy go as I've kept her through some really dire financial times and have always managed to pull through.

I don't doubt for a minute I won't be tempted back into ownership further down the line but for now I'm just going to invest my time and money into myself as a business and hope to have a good year.Good enough to make a come back! laugh

Not sure how I'm going to play it but right now it looks like stripping it is going to be the best way to recover my costs, and I'll be a lot happier knowing that no one's driving around in a high powered coupé that's bent and unsafe.
Expect a lot of for sale ads soon!

Indeed cry

It's a shame the car wasn't properly repaired and that someone like yourself that was prepared to look after it and spend on it has ended up with it.

Maybe the money from the breaking of it will help towards buying a straight one?

If you can break one you can buy one with a duff engine, transplant and enjoy coupe life again! Break what you have left and it should be enough to cover the non runner. C'mon! From the sounds of it you don't give up easily, do it do it do it!!!!

If it were a perfect world, I would do just that but it's time to be a proper grown up for a year or so and focus on finances and where I'm heading etc etc...blah blah.. rolleyes

Who's told you it would need "jigging" You got any good pics of the strut area? Who's told you "jigging" isn't guaranteed, does this persons measuring system consist of a tape measure and closing one eye? Might not be worth giving up on it.

Cheers Buddy wink

Use the frustration built up from the disappointment of the coupe into anger for your forthcoming boxing match lol, that's the hardest thing for me when I've competed in the past is actually getting wound up I usually have to starve myself the day or two before get me spitting feathers plus to stay underweight too, haha every cloud and that bleddy coupe.

Good luck man

The front top mounts on coops are really strong being right up in the corners against the bulkhead same as the alfa's etc and rarely move even if hit quite hard.to get positive camber the top mount would of had to move outward by quite a long way which would be unusual, obviously I am guessing as I hav'nt seen it but it would be more likely in my opinion for the bottom to have gone inwards which could be a bent subframe which aren't very strong when hit and are easily changed.
