Hi all

I'm looking to buy a modified Plus, but in the event I can't find exactly what I want I'm trying to get an idea how much it would cost me to get a standard one, and then upgrade to stage 3.

I've been through the list of performance parts and got the following prices. Could somebody please let me know whether there's anything I've missed that I would need (or indeed listed something I don't essentially need), whether the costs listed are still (vaguely) correct, and also have a stab at estimating the cost of labour (somewhere like Motormech etc) of doing all the work in one hit.

Uprated turbo (GT28RS or the like) - £800 approx
FMIC - £275
Pro Alloy radiator - £300
Uprated fuel pump - £100
Induction kit - £95
SIP - £120
Hoses - £150
DV - £100
Clutch (Helix organic) - £525
EBC - £250
iridium plugs - £40

Then around £400 for chip plus remap.

Not bothered listing exhaust because most Coupes seem to have a decent stainless steel system on them these days.

So around £3k, excluding labour costs. Does that sound about right? I know there will be some major holes in this plan somewhere, just waiting for them to be revealed..... laugh How much roughly in labour for somebody to do all that work in one go?

Cheers all! smile

EDIT: I realise I'll also need brakes and suspension sorting, but dealing with that separately for now smile

I would probably add belts to that list as well as service items like oils.

Unless you buy a Plus with a Big turbo, then you will need a 3" Downpipe to run the GT28,

Injectors and fuel pressure regulator will also need up rating and depending on what bhp your after I would think might be wise to go forged internals.

Uprated turbo (GT28RS or the like) - £800 approx
FMIC - £275, You can pick up a used Evo FMIC for around £100
Pro Alloy radiator - £300, You don't need this.
Uprated fuel pump - £100, You don't need this. A fuel pump wiring mod will do on the standard pump.
Induction kit - £95
SIP - £120
Hoses - £150
DV - £100
Clutch (Helix organic) - £525, There are cheaper organic clutches available at around £350.
EBC - £250
iridium plugs - £40, Don't need this either. The NGK copper plugs are fine and cost around £15.

You also don't need a 3" downpipe. I had the standard downpipe on my GT28RS setup with a 2.5" cat back and my car was near enough identical in performance to technics' old Coupe with RSR, bigger downpipe and forged.

Agree I have GT28RS and was making 320 on std exhaust. Not sure why you need a SIP, I have never had one and now 350bhp. Can somebody please explain benefit?

I'd think you should budget to update discs and pads in order to slow down. tongue

I think SIP helps spool up, and it`s shiny.

Standard pistons are fine for 350bhp mate. There are people in the area of 400bhp with them aswell but it's each to there own if they trust the strains there under

today i got alu IC 3" downpipe and 3" all way back. openair direcly to the turbo. what else do i need to change from stock to get where i want? im using it as a normal road car. picking the kids from school, and so on. i know i need i bigger turbo. any rec? and a OMP lamell (dont know the word in english). and ofc a good chip. its a rare car here in sweden...so like no tuning company knows what mapping program to use...so thy want me to buy a new ECU box ( 3000£) frown so thy can use the MAXX ecu. and bigger Fuel injectors 55cc

Additional cooling/breathing, and much better brakes needed - like Nismo, mine at 351bhp is a monster on the road.

Also, refresh the suspension components to get maximum benefit

The time between you putting your foot down and the turbo kicking in

Ive placed my order for my 16v, im in Norway.
Get it to a dyno after and if theres anything that should be altered he will.
You can also get adjustment later on for cams or whatever you just "must" have smile
