Another fantastic Coupe back out on the roads, this Black LE belongs to Adam aka Knight7660 smile He has been working on this between long tours away in the army, but finally it was ready to go boosting!

Engine spec is as follows:

GT2871R 0.64
Forged pistons
Steel rods
Standard head
Standard cams
FC 3" 5-stud downpipe
3" exhaust back
Pro Alloy FMIC
6-paddle clutch
880cc fuel injectors
External swirl pot + motorsport pump
FC Big MAF conversion
FC Stage 5 remap + 3-stage boost switch

1.8bar - 1.5bar
432bhp @ 6750rpm
382lbs/ft @ 5200rpm

click to enlarge click to enlarge

Ah yes, the above results are from the infamous Surrey Rolling Road Dyno Dynamics aka the "heartbreaker" ! All from a little GT2871R 0.64 turbo too with some pretty nice torque.

Adam has a three stage boost switch which allows for a more sedate 1.4bar constant setting, a progressive 1.3bar building to 1.5bar, and then a full force 1.8bar dropping to 1.5bar. Part throttle boost is also controlled proportionately according to throttle position, so it offers maximum drivability and control.

Of course we did have it on my dyno too...

1.8bar - 1.7bar
452bhp @ 6750rpm
367lbs/ft @ 6226rpm

So less torque as expected from my dyno, but slightly more horsepower as I pushed the turbo a little harder to hold more boost. However, on the road I tailed this of to 1.5bar as shown above on the Surrey graph in order to keep everything a little more consistent and efficient.

On the road it is extremely fast and drivable pulling hard all the way to 7000rpm. It will also see some track action, something that the boost control will really help with when coming out of corners. However, I know Adam has designs on going even more extreme in the future, but for now time to enjoy...

Looks very strong, with pretty early spool, and not just a top end monster. Good stuff flea. smile

Cheers for the write up flea and like he has said its a good strong setup but the next step is sort the flow of the inlet out by shortening it as much as possible and smoothing it out so power will be made easier and at a lower boost level.

Another thing to add is how this engine was built. It was built by FCSS and the block stayed in the car and retains the standard bore and it goes to show people's expertise and there's is second to none.

Also to the mapping that has been done I can't stress enough how different this drives compared to the piggy back chip I had on it before, it drives like a factory car and that is what counts.
also for the guys down at the heart breaker to turn around and say the mapping is "spot on" then that goes to show the time and effort that has gone into this.

So a big thanks to both involved with the LE

It is good to compare between the 2 dyno but I don't see the big issue with the heart breaker. I will only be using fleas or surrey because they are the to nearest where the car will be having work done.

But as for a bench mark il always go off flea's dyno because it's the one everyone has used when they get the mapping done so there's a better comparison between all are coupes etc.

I bet that's a clean coupe just make sure you do some rust treating/ proofing when you bring it back out.
