I think the big VR6 engine probably detracted from the balance of the 16v or G60?

Very nose heavy and handling was god aweful as were the brakes.
Surely it wasn't that bad? one of the things that I've always noticed when looking into these is that the handling is universally praised. Maybe at the time it was exceptional but didn't stick out as amazing from where I was sitting. Tyres were good, nothing wrong with suspension, was very boat like, with massive under steer. Its not a conventional v6 either its a smaller version popular at the time that utilises a single cylinder head. So although its a v6 it was cleverly designed and was very easy to work on.

Not much power from a 2.9 litre engine. Around 190 BHP I think.
Enjoying Coop ownership, second time round . Also enjoying RWD action in a thundering V8 E90 M3.

It was alot at the time - that VR6 engine was from the 80's when an M3 made 200 (ish) bhp!

Cheers guys, perhaps I did not miss out too much after all! The other early 90's coupe on my shopping list at the time, was the Audi Coupe S2(?) quattro. Someone near to me had a pearlescent white one from brand new and I have to say it looked the biz! Obviously more money again than the Corrado at the time. They never get a mention now? Whereas the original quattros (including the later 20v wide body) fetch more than the Cosworths! The original S2 was probably a bit fat, but the start of Audi's mainstream sporty models of today?

I had two vr6 engined mk2 golfs, the second one was the 190hp rado engine and felt like one of the fastest cars iv ever owned...mate has a g60 and if pushed I'd say it handled a wee bit better than the coupe but is no where near as fast...or certainly doesn't feel as fast...

There was about 10 of them at Castle Combe on saturday for Audi Driver International. Looked kinda dated but fairly rapid on track. Only saw one in white though. There was even a handfull of RS2's going out.
