I think i know who owns this car. Spoke to him a few times, and was partly the reason i got my coupe Mentioned the forum on many occasions, and i mean many. But no sign of him. Shame, because i know it wasn't running quite rite.

if it had running problems then it sounds then it sounds like my old coupe.first drive of the day it would always cough and splutter but if you kept your foot in it it would then burst into life.

Hi peeps, thought I'd add a bit to a very old post of mine. Still wouldn't mind finding my old coupe. Spoke to a friend of mine the other day who owned it and he said last time he saw it it was going to the Bristol area. Think the car has been sorn for years so may just be sat in a garage somewhere now. Any info at all would be great. Many thanks, Dave.

It is still on the DVLA system, and shows SORN in place. You can request the registered keepers details from the DVLA by filling in a V888 form, it will cost a couple of quid and you need to give them a valid reason for wanting it. Also they will probably contact the keeper to tell them they have had an enquiry about the vehicle. Worth a go if you are keen on tracking the car down.

I really (and I mean really) had to trace a vehicle's owner once and supplied letters from HMRC, solicitors, Police, etc. and no way on earth were they going to help. Makes me mad when these bastards who work as private parking companies seem to be able to access the database to carry out their legalised robbery........in fact maybe that's your way in??

The dvla sent me a copy of all the previous owners on a BMW M535i for about £5 iirc. Blimey. If what you say is right, what's stopping anyone asking the last but one owner who he sold it to?? I did not think of that. bGood work! Worth a go?

I was surprised I received anything tbh as I didn't even have the logbook for it. Found out that it was ordered new by Sir Hugh Fraser (House of Fraser/Harrods) but contacting anyone on the list was difficult due to most being ex directory or moved house etc.
