This may be a candidate for the most ridiculous coupe item but I couldn't find anything "off the shelf" that was suitable, so here we have the DIY cup holder. I'll never spill my Costa hot chocolate again. smile

First get a sheet of high density, closed cell foam. 20mm thick is perfect and I used ebay item # 221443149714.

I found 100mm x 89mm was the best size and it's easily cut with scissors. If you use a very dense foam it'll need to be a mm or two smaller in each dimension so that it fits snugly without compressing the size of the hole too much.

Now mark the centre point and tape it down ready for cutting.

I used a 3" hole saw which fits the small size Costa cup perfectly. The hole will be a bit ragged but is easily tidied up.

And now sprayed with a couple of coats of plastidip and fitted to the handbrake console.

And cup in place.

Perhaps would benefit from an LED ring around the aperture as an aid to night-time beverage positioning? smile

Been looking into producing a cup holder for that very same space using 3d printing... Glad I'm not the only thinking this

Awesome, how about a length of black pipe cut to size for the inner lining?

Nice work! smile

VW has a decent aftermarket holder, been in my car since I bought it.

http://sfk.ibk.se/depa/showfile.php?carpic_no=2443&type=picture

2 cups and works great with the passenger seat pulled far back.

Per's cupholder is the thing to right of gearstick, is a fold-out one.

Sorry I was unclear, but yes, it's that little panel at the tunnel console, fold down and there are two cupholders there. smile

OT: thanks, seats are a mix of two different Delta HPE seats and carpets are from 2004, Habianek in Germany. Don't think you'll find them anymore but there are VERY similar mats on ebay which may be from the same people..?

Cheers

alright...

I wasn't going to "release" this until it was of a production standard, but I'll offer this nugget in the meantime...

I recently took a great interest in the rear holder and decided that it might be of use for several things- but that I wouldn't be reducing the overall top size- or that if I went with one of the concepts- I wouldn't need to.

However-

What you gent's need for this application, is this.
