The car didn't come with a red key but a key code card instead,the garage said this was because it was Imported from Italy,I had no reason to disbelieve the garage,they have a good reputation with 30 year's selling highend cars,is this right??

What colour is the "key code card"? If it is blue and has the word "CODE" with a kind of arrow, and a 5 digit number, this is the Fiat CODE card that was mostly withheld from UK cars at the request of UK insurers. The card is blue says fiat code on it,it has electronic code + mechanical code,also got another card it says key code on it.
It is a grey import has no chassis number on glass,it's got a manufacture certificate all in Italian has any seen one before??

Quite a few were bought by UK forces people in Germany in UK spec, RHD, and brought to UK, the V5 might give a bit of a clue? Plus you have the full service history you mentioned in your first ever post? A few owners have the certificte you mention, that may have been required to get the UK registration.

The car came straight from factory it had been ordered i think,just one owner before me,v5 just says fiat ,doesn't say coupe or plus just blank
