Hi
Not sure yet that I'll need it but can anyone tell me of anyone in the south east who is able to rewire a 20vt?
Many thanks

Hi again
a "friend" who has a lot of experience and apparently is a certified car electrician was rewiring the whole car, the loom is still all in place but he was adding a thatcham alarm and replacing a few old or worn out strands and insulating it all.
he's now moved away right up north and has family issues so is unable to complete the job and as I know nothing at all about electrics i need someone to check it all out and finish what's been started.
I know it's a bit "how long's a piece of string" but i really don't know much more and need an expert opinion.
Cheers

I see a problem straight away as he's fitted a thatcham alarm, and those wires will be black so there's no way to know what goes where unless you're an alarm specialist.

Stock wiring I wouldn't have an issue with but I agree it is a 'how long is a piece of string' scenario with something like this.

I assume the car won't start?

Hi

No, car hasn't started for 2 years and only 'most' of the engine etc is currently under the bonnet as the car is mostly rebuilt with new and slightly upgraded parts including forged pistons

i do however have all necessary parts to complete it but am worried and confused by electricals so wanted an expert eye casting over what has [or hasn't] been done so i know where i stand

hi alfasudti and countrycruising

apologies for not getting back to you both after your very generous offers of help

since i got back i have done a lot of soul searching and don't think it's worth trying to continue refurbing my car because the bloke has made it worse and left it to deteriorate and it'll be a difficult task so i've now decided - with a heavy heart - that i'm going to keep the rebuilt engine and other good and new bits, look for another similar coupe in good nick but with a blown engine [i will put a request on the "cars wanted"] and make one good car then i'll sell the bits that are left over

a shame and a defeat but i think it's the only way forward

thanks again chaps

:O)
