Really I am, sometimes I need to give my head a shake before doing things.

Today I noticed a small black speck moving on my monitor so after confirming that it wasn't part of the web page that I was looking at or that it wasn't a small insect on my screen by trying to flick it off guess what I did next?

Yep, give the screen a little push to see if it's a small insect inside my screen, one small splat later this is now confirmed and I now have black mark which will never come off right in the middle of my eyeline inside my PC screen. banghead

I did crack open the monitor case to see if it was servicable but at least common sense prevailed this time and I gave up after getting the plastic casing off before I did any more damage.

Just thought I'd share that, move along now.

Up yours Photobucket.

Sounds like the perfect excuse to replace it with a QHD 27" one..

Funnily enough, in a couple of pay packets time I'm planning to splash out on a pair of 27s.

For now I've swapped the two over so the one with the permanent bug mark isn't the primary display. This has the added bonus of the main one now being clean of kid's fingerprints. I suppose I could have just cleaned it though (or chopped the kid's hands off).

You're kidding, have you seen the mess stumps make?

I thought you were making some cricket related gag for a moment there, not a problem though, I possess a blowtorch.

We get email warnings about NOT squishing bugs on our monitors at work every summer from our ever-efficient IT dept for this very reason. Until now I've always thought "that'll never happen" laugh

Whatever you do, don't admit to them that it has happened.

Exactly. I've heard of some of these new "self destruct" bugs which spontaneously create gooey fly juice bullet holes in computer screens. crazy
