Any opinions on uniroyal rainsport 3 for team dynamics pro alloy 1 on billies and eibach's before I order any! Are they so bad that it would be a big mistake?
They have good wet rating which is a plus especially this time of year!
They are currently £59 for 215-17-40-XL 87 Y

Been told uniroyal are basically continental as owned by them!
Have these on my mondeo no complaints but just a family hack

Not really found many bad comments but they seem rare on a coupe
Would love to get continental but that would have to wait till after Christmas if I did!
Appreciate the goods and bads
Cheers

I've got my eye on them for my next set of replacements when the time comes. I had rain sports many years ago and they were great then. I was looking at the 225 as they're slightly cheaper I think.

All major tyre manufacturers have a number of brands with the latest technology being reserved for the top brands. There is a 2013 ADAC test where the Rainsport 2s were included. The Continentals from that year were a lot better than their Uniroyal sister. You generally get what you pay for.

I'm amazed, but the Rainsport 3 (and 2) seem to be well-rated

I have had Rainsport 2 on the family estate. I found them as follows -

Wet weather - excellent
Dry weather - very good
intermediate (drizzle, say) - below average, excessively slippy

And, I found they wear pretty quickly.
I've put Goodyear efficient grip performance on the front as a stop gap until they all wear down, then I'll probably put some firestones on. These aren't generally highly rated but I've had a number of times and always found then really predictable, which means I'm in control. Dunno if I'd put them on my coupe though!
Rainsport 3's are supposed to be better than the 2's but after having the 2's I don't think would try the 3's really, but as I say, when it's absolutely lashing it down they're excellent, but then how often do you drive in those conditions?

the mrs has an slk and she swears by them. I've got them on the 20v and had no problems with rainsports either.
