I bought a baby monitor in October last year after our son was born. As he was quite an early arrival I didn’t really appreciate that we probably wouldn’t actually need it for a while so we’ve only just opened it and put it to use.

At the time of purchase I skimmed over a few reviews and quickly settled on an Angelcare AC1100. It probably has way more features than I’ll ever need and is certainly at the high end of monitors price-wise.

To say that I’m disappointed with it is an understatement. The image quality is terrible, the range is poor and the angle of the camera points upwards when it clearly needs to point down to look inside a cot.

I bought it from John Lewis but I’m certain I no longer have the receipt. I can prove I bought it from them via my card statement but what are my rights?

In my opinion they’ve misrepresented the item. The online advert claims that the camera can be remotely rotated, which it can’t.

I’ll be happy to exchange, provided they sell another model I’m happy with. But if they don’t, I’ll be wanting a refund.

I think you'll find you bought it from the one place where customer service is a matter of course and pride - I think you'll have no trouble when you explain things to them.

Just don't sign your letter D. Trump. wink

That's what I'm hoping for.

We found them useless. Lots of getting up to check the Baby when they farted even. Turned it off after a couple of days and relied on their lungs to tell us if we were needed.
