Hi everybody, find this recently: A/C kit and was looking for opinion/knowledge/experience upon this new "magic" non-freon gas, if somebody has the AC refilled with it? Everything is so green and wonderfull?
I'm not sure what's being sold. There's a mention of yf at the bottom of the page. If it is that it's highly flammable and I'm not sure it's backwards compatible with R134a. I certainly wouldn't want to try it.
I believe it is hfo 1234yf. Very low gwp, I haven't come across it yet but has been mentioned for a few years. The replacement for vehicles was actually supposed to use a butane based refrigerant. R600?
I would assume as above, very flammable and alittle bit of reading states this is alittle contentious. If it was amazing I'm sure all manufactures would have adopted this years ago as this was spoke about 2010-2011
Well, it was just my curiosity and the usual suspicions...and yes, actually I'm not very sure also, what's on sale I mean, and more on the compatibility and supposed betterness. But if it's that same r1234yf there should be a lot of new cars leaving the factories filled with it already, and if remember correctly should be the only used agent 2017 onwards...Have to check some local specialist's opinion, not upon this very kit, but the gas itself.
