I’m updating my ‘Coupé costs’ spreadsheet and I’ve just totalled up the spend so far this year. January - Discs, pads and full service £513 February – Exhaust manifold and cambelt change £940 April – Refurbished steering rack and track rod ends £500 May - New Helix friction plate £525 2106 is over £2,500 so far… Looking a little further back... 2015 was only £3,500 and that included new alloys, tyres and coilovers! 2014 was an eye watering £8,250 but that included a full re-spray and the 342-416 engine upgrade and supporting mods. I feel a bit dizzy now…

Sorry if I am a cynic but looks expensive! Since when have discs, pads and a service been over £250 let alone £500! Edit: if you are buying mega discs and pads because they're upgraded I probably under-egged the cost!

Good lad Trappy. I have the perfect solution to coupe maintenance. Don't keep records! Haha I shudder to think what your 'many projects' are costing you!!! Sorry if I am a cynic but looks expensive! Since when have discs, pads and a service been over £250 let alone £500! Edit: if you are buying mega discs and pads because they're upgraded I probably under-egged the cost! 'Only' DS2500 at £160 and 'standard' Pagid discs, but it was a long overdue big service. I've just paid that for my brand new ST3! When you put it like that, mine seems like great value!

Good lad Trappy. I have the perfect solution to coupe maintenance. Don't keep records! Exactly what I did - the costs of my Sprinty were scary (probably £25,000 - £35,000, as well as the £30,000+ of fuel) All I have now is a list of the mods (about £12.5k). I don't bother keeping track of all the bills.

I just spent £959 on 2 new injectors, disks and pads all round, new drive shaft, cv boots all round, a new suspension bit (not sure what it was) and a full service. Only owned the coupe a week or so

Don't know what you mean expensive? £500 for all that is nothing, I've just paid £300 for a pair of OE drilled brembo discs alone (no pads and no service). Can't see £60 discs lasting long either......

Plain 305mm Brembo discs are 94€ a pair here (75 UKP???). Those holes are pretty expensive?

It pays to shop around for sure. Brembo drilled fronts can be had for around I'll edit this - maybe £150.00 for the front. Going by what I have seen on eBay before. But, when it comes to coupe's they always end up being expensive and as been said before, there is no such thing as a cheap coupe. Buy cheap and pay more later. Buy expensive and pay more later as you improve on things further. It's a funny old game! But still cheaper than a supercar (who's carbon fantastic plasma nanotube) discs and pads would cost more than a 20,000 mile Plus

I think the Pagid discs were over £100 but can't recall now. I buy them through Roger so if there are any issues (with warping etc.) then he sorts it directly. Keeping it simple is as important as the price for me! I tried all sorts of fancy discs over the years. DBA4000, Brembos etc. They all ended up warped or chewed to bits by the Pagid Grey pads I used to run. I gave up on holes and grooves type a long time ago Solid Pagids seem to take an absolute beating however and I've boiled brake fluid before getting fade from pads getting too hot.

We are not talking about drilled Brembo's though and if we were I had covered that by my 'Edit' And regardless of how long the Pagid's last you'd need to get through 5 sets Pagid's before toppling the cost of the Brembo's..

The front discs on the LE are not cheap or available on ebay as that seller just uses the image but has no stock. If you haven`t got the correct discs on the car then the car isn`t genuine. Wish I could afford a set myself.
If you maintain a NA to a high enough standard the cost will be high also.
Looking at some pictures from the project thread of one of the most highly rated and priced coupes in the country I notice what looks to be non-standard pinch bolts. Genuine ones cost more than 50p.

I got my drilled brembo discs from alternative autos. Tbh, solid brembo discs are equally as good and a fraction of the price. I wouldn't worry that much about originality as they are getting very hard to come by.
