In my humble opinion that is definitely not worth £10k.
I know some people out there who have late model low miles coupes in good condition would probably disagree for obvious reasons, but there is no way that is worth more than £5k.
Someone really desperate for a car of that exact spec with deep pockets might pay more than £5k but still no where near £10k.

Bigger side bolsters on the 20vt6 but I would have expected to see side airbags in one of the last models.

Considering I've just spent slightly over 4K for my 1999, 88k 5 speed Broomy I would say this is maybe just slightly overpriced but not horrendous. Admittedly mine has had the belts, clutch and turbo sorted recently but this seems to have been very well looked after. Crazy to think I've only bought it for summer before I start university in September!!!
Also like everybody is mentioning, this stuff in the market will only increase the prices of the coupe over time, although I can see it being sat there for a while...

I think owners disagree with higher priced coupes because a lot of us bought them when they were very inexpensive for the type of car it was. In my opinion that's still in the back of owners minds as they start to see prices rise, whereas those looking at purchasing a first coupe are seeing it for what it is, as opposed to what is was worth 3-5 years ago.

I paid 6k for a 99 VT 5.5 years ago so I'd hardly say prices were even level with then. There's along way to go yet, I'll have classed them as up when mines worth what it was then with its current mileage.

Says he bought to keep but it's a blatant flip All of his cars are expensive, and I sell cars!! Agreed good cars should command a premium but this is somewhat overpriced

Agree Barnacle...but a blatant £2800 profit to flip the car in a matter of days..still does benefit us all in the long run.
I just have an issue with people/speculators who dont own the car but use it as a tool for greed/profit making (i know this is not a great argument and its supply and demand etc).

There's along way to go yet, I'll have classed them as up when mines worth what it was then with its current mileage. The market has fluctuated in the last 20 years...mine is possibly worth more than I paid 12 yrs ago. So many variables to what determines a value for the Coupe..almost unquantifiable..but prices are rising given the number that were being broken and going for shed pounds a few years ago.

Take a look at what you might pay for a "Classic Car". You can easily pay 10k for a MGB, you can pay 14k for a mk1 Cortina, 15k for a Riley or 23k for a TR6. Prices are on the up for these cars because of a rising market for them. So why not for the coupe ?
Like Barnacle, I have said before on here, I don't understand why forum members talk down the value of advertised cars. Time to reevaluate what they are worth and if someone buys a car that nobody else did and then finds a buyer for it at a higher price then we'll done to them. Nothing wrong with that.

Agree Barnacle...but a blatant £2800 profit to flip the car in a matter of days.. Or... £2800 negotiating room to anyone who can do the research. Swings and roundabouts.

This happens every time: a car is offered for sale and irrespective of the price, we trash it! Not everyone trashed it, personally I said it was a very very nice car. But I would be foolish to not look around and compare as I like to get the best value for money no matter what it is I am buying. Price does account for a lot with most people who live in the real world, I guess the dealer is looking for someone who can afford a toy regardless off cost and just wants the best. Perhaps they may even find that person. From my experience, people with lots of money are also canny with it. No fools. And usually quite tight too.

It's a nice looking car in the pictures, if it as sweet as it looks and everything stacks up mechanically then it's worth the money, hopefully a sorted coupe won't lose money going forward.

I think the notion that us talking down prices on this forum will affect the actual market for these cars is misguided.
Th market for a specific car is obviously affected by a myriad of different things but what we discuss on a forum is not one of those things....again, my opinion only.
I stand by what I said originally, I think this person paid slightly over the odds for the car, so adding £2800 is really wishful thinking.

Stating the obvious, a car is worth what someone is willing to pay... Stating the obvious again, not everyone has the same thoughts/opinions on this subject... I've added some smilies to show that I'm not grumpy about this thread.....
I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time
