Anyone else selling a coupe finding that enquiries seem to be slow to none existent? I have mine on a number of platforms and it's not getting any interest.
So I started to look in some detail and found that there are a number of cars that seem to have been for sale for a while now .... usually in the 3 + K region
Are coupe sales slowing? Thoughts?

I was thinking that if someone just fancies a coupe but doesn't know much about them or care to know much about them, then a cheaper coupe they will buy.
The higher priced coupes get bought by existing enthusiast's or maybe some car nut that has took the time to read up on them and Allways wanted one.
As Graham mentioned in another post that the higher priced ones normally take a bit of time to sell.

I agree with your points guys. I am not complaining, I come home for a conference for a few days in November and I am looking forward to driving it. I am in no rush to move it on at all. I just find it interesting, I sold a mini cooper last month that was mine, in the UK, I was not in the UK ... usual story. That went within days.
Coupe price wise, the values have gone up for sure, but maybe a plateau is about to be reached. Time as always will tell.
These cars just have not got that X factor that the other classics from the era have presently .... that will change one day I hope!

Waaaaaaay to many car snobs in the UK . The little Fiat will reach a level but no where near what we think it should, in the main.
Here in France at certain events I'm having to fight the young guys off crowding round my coupe at times. It's a very well respected car and also loved in its track car form. It's just that mine is a rhd that scares a few,but they Allways want a ride round the track in it.

Yes Patch. It's hard going. My Moon Grey Plus is in super nick save for needs an engine bay fresh ideally. If I come into some dosh, I'll keep it and get an easy daily but with 4 children I come under pressure. J

You may be right, but talking purely about Coupe's and the model variations I just don't see how the price increase for a Plus or LE is worth it for several minor 'stick on' additions. In fact I reckon the gap may well close between the LE/+ and standard 20vt's as more wither and are scrapped. I have seen the big priced LE/+'s either not selling at the heavily inflated prices or taking an absolute age to do so.

I can see that to move mine on I will need to drop the price! Another big loss for me if I do ... and I am already selling at a loss. Never been much good at making money on Coupes', excellent at losing money on them though ))))

Mine will be entered into a classic car auction (online) next week ..... I will take a gamble on this and let the market decide..... Will update my for sale thread when listed for the auction. It's all fun and games huh! I will be driving it next week as I come home to speak at a conference for a few days. Looking forward to that

Yep thanks MM! I don't mind being open. To break even I will need to sell at £4768.00. This is just to break even, no costs for time spent organising, communications, advertising, thinking :)))

I think that the value of these cars will not rise until they start to go through specific classic auction houses at higher prices. The collectors all watch the auctions for those increasing in value. they set the trend that others catch up on later.
I think, this is how the classic industry works and how the values increase. You can all thank me later :))) haha!

How many LE's and Pluses were registered as a 5 speed or 6 speed 20VT, probably a few. Maybe only LE's and Pluses that are actually registered correctly are making strong money..

My 20v turbo Plus was registered as a 20v and there were 4 or 5 other mistakes, I got a letter from FCA UK to confirm the corrections (I had to pay mind you)

I just sold two Italian motorbikes to two different collector's, things are selling. They both sold within hours of putting a classified on eBay. Men don't think about Christmas!
One would presume that this may be the wrong time of year to sell bikes but the way I see it if there is demand for such luxury goods they will always sell and the price for such doesn't really fluctuate because of the weather.
Unfortunately for us Coupe's just don't have that desirability/kudos/investment potential.
One of buyers had a DB6 in his collection!

Regarding selling a coupe -does anybody have any advice if a fiat coupe 20v non turbo 2000 x reg 48000 miles is anything. MOT until May 2018 but is now off road requiring a new intake manifold.
