Played briefly a long time ago and thinking of starting again via a digital kit. My question is has anyone used online tutorials as opposed to tuition and if so are they any good?

I briefly had a Roland TD9 a few years ago (bought it on a whim after years of having not drummed).

They are really great but can be expensive. Roland are the class leader and you can spend £6k+ on their top kit. Then there’s the add ons once you start thinking you could with a second snare or 5 crash cymbals.

Some online tutorials can be very good and informative, depends on the teacher and your ability.

Ultimately, how good you get will depend on how much time you’re willing to dedicate to practicing. But that would be the same with ‘proper’ tuition.

Cheers Ali. Getting the entry level Roland TD 1k plus accessories for a snip under £400 that's about right for an entry level kit. Had a trial in Manchester yesterday and was impressed with its compactness and sound quality and the ability to add extras as you progress. Once I get back in rhythm need to start a FCCUK beat combo.. laugh
