Went to work car park after work and find the car i was parked next to in morning gone and another one beside my coop, i always keep a check who is beside me and try n get out of work fast!

Now there is a neat 1/2 inch scratch/dig on my passenger rear 3/4 pannel. I look at the different car beside me and its not come from there so i assume it must have been previous car!

When i get home i check the scratch and find small dark blue traces same as car i park to in morning.I measure the height of the scratch from the floor and decide its probably from the a 4 door car also, same as the one i parked next to first thing!

Armed with this evidence i get in work early and wait for this car and when the driver has got out i look at the rear door and at the approximate measurement i find exposed metal and a slight trace of silver paint!

I go into work and ask the guy whos car it is if his wife took his car in the day and he replys "yes she did!" I then tell him she has scatched my car and take him to show him the evidence! Before he has even fully walked to the car he says that some elce parked there after his wife, a gold BMW coupe.
I present him with the blue on my car and the near identicle rear door measurements and after a lot confrontation he storms off saying he will pay for it!

Now that sounds like a result but he is a nice guy and in 6 years iv never had a cross word with him but when we get back to the comon room he makes a bit of a fuss and makes me look like a petty sod.

Im going to get a quote on sat morning and present this to him! Have i done the wright thing?

I would try and get something in writing from him as presently its just your word against his and you never know if he's going to change his mind when he gets the bill.

Ex 20VT - now something far more sensible'ish... smile

Yeh same here. You've shown him the evidence and he knows his missus is guilty.Don't let up until the repair is done and Him/Her has paid for it.She thought she'd got away with it,but dont let Her get away with it.....Good luck!

Any chance of a sneaky photo of his showing the silver (and the same for yours in reverse)?

Up yours Photobucket.

Agree. Say its nothing personal but you just like your car to be in good condition, he wouldnt like it if you scratched his coffee table etc and thatd worth a fraction.
