Well you could seam weld it totally, but i personally think the metal is that thin you would only make it weaker either side of the weld.
Couldnt even spot it really either as it would just spit with the powdercoat.

It's just a case of getting it seam welded all the way round. Might be advisable to get it shot blasted clean then repainted if you're going to take it off anyway. Mine wasn't too bad when I had it off but still had some rusty bits on it.
