Did anyone else see Bockers twitching when his car was on the rollers? P.S The cottage pie from that pub. Damn my mouth is still burning!

Haven't got a clue. Out of RR place and turn right, over next roundabout. 2 pubs near eachother, we went to the second one which had large umbrellas outside and patio heaters.

What a luuuverly day we had... nice to meet so many of you new and old faces.. greetz to Kenno (special thakz), Bockers, Highwayman, Suba, 007, Paddy, mark_K, MrC, flea and da rest. My reading was not too unexpected 251hp @ 1bar. Decent figures as I have the original Novatech chip and a Decat. Now I can safely upgrade the thousands of pounds worth of mods I have been saving for 1 1/2 years.. flea, hope you get your coop healthier See you guys soon.. Kenno, when is the next one, so I can bring some spicy pakoras

Kenno, Thanks for setting up today, it was a good event and really good to put faces to names. I managed to get 281.2bhp and 275lb/ft @ 1.1bar boost, I was suprised and very happy with the result as I had to reduce the boost due to the clutch slipping(normally set about 1.3bar). I was running slightly lean in the mid range, but it then went rich again nearer the redline as I was only holding about 0.85bar, which Charlie suggested was possibly a boost leak(and it would explain it being rich at higher rpm. It was a very good day all in all and I'm very happy with my results too. Cheers, Mark

Nazo - if you were only running 1 bar then your car is effectively standard - so that's 250bhp with just a decat. I've been out all day so will post more about my results tomorrow.

Many thanks Kenno for arranging the day. It was good to catch up with some familiar faces and meet some new coupe nuts! My results are a bit bizarre actually. It was 421BHP at 7100rpm and 355lbs/ft at 4850rpm at 1.3 bar boost My car is mapped to run at 1.5 bar boost and it automatically targets the correct boost level for whatever reason was only achieving 1.3 bar boost. That means I must have a leak somewhere. Also my wideband was reading 12.9 AFR but it was actually getting 12.1 which is correct. If my AFR Sesnor reads lean the map is designed to pull out ignition for safety so I can only assume that was also happening. So at least I know the safety feature works What is more bizarre is that I am actually making more torque earlier on surrey rolling roads' dyno. I personally think what is happening is because they are not using their iRPM hook up(which means they are actually taking the RPM signal rather than estimating it) and that my power comes in earlier on the graph than it really does. I also don't think they made any changes between 5sp and 6sp boxes which generally you have to do on this type of dyno (or at least they did at G-Force)

My results were a bit wierd too.... made 305 bhp at 1.35 bar, which was 40bhp down on Perfect Touch's rolling road. I think this was due to a throttle cable that had three degrees of travel left on it and the ambient temperatures being very high on the day. Was quite amusing when Phil was looking at the dyno on my run and thought the 0 was an 8...... The graphs are still in the boot of my car and will post them up when I have a second. Map was bang on though and car still is still running well as ever.

Was quite amusing when Phil was looking at the dyno on my run and thought the 0 was an 8...... Ah yes , the eyes aren't what they used to be... ! On Cyclone's point, I've just looked at my previous results from SRR and they were done on Shoot 6. Not sure if that is much different from 6F . It also seems that Perfect Touch used 4th gear for their runs, whereas Charlie used third. I'm guessing that this might lead to some subtle differences as well? Phil

Does anyone else think that their boost was a tad low?
On the dyno graphs mine said that it went from 1.2 bar all the way across to 5.5k rpm then down to 1 bar.
Drove my car today and my boost seemed a little higher than on the rr. Could my apexi boost sensor be up the the duff?

It'll read a bit different on the road anyway - mine was a tad lower than the gauge reading in the car. A 0.1 bar difference is within tolerances I think.

Phil My car has an extra 50 bhp in fourth and fifth gear.....

The Dyno Dynamics rollers don't have an option for 5 cylinder so they run the 6cylinder option instead! I have heard from many a people that the Dyno Dynamics roller is supposed to be the most accurate! (Apparently it shows in the purchase price as well)

(Apparently it shows in the purchase price as well) Fair enough, so that explains why the runs are done in mode Shoot 6F. I wouldn't say that the Dyno Dynamics are the most accurate rollers, but I would say that there are less variables to play with to make them inaccurate when compared to other RR's. Not sure about your final comment on the purchase price? Jules.

They are no more accurate than any other dyno at anything IMHO. You can only really take the wheel figures on that dyno as the losses are calculated only. So, for instance, the fact that my wheels weigh twice as much as std takes about an extra 15-20BHP off my ATW but it wouldn't be reflected in the calculated flywheel figure on that type of dyno but would be reflected in dynos that use coastdown. Anyway there's no point bitching about the dyno, I reckon mine might be right only the RPM is wrong. My ECU is definely backing off several degrees of advance so it's actually quite a good result @ 1.3 bar boost for me I have an equivalent graph on base boost with less advance taken out (making 417BHP) and the curve looks the same (only the torque is later again).

Hi all, I was the one with the smokey red coupe. Went home unhappy. The reading that I managed to get was spot on. 252 BHP with GTEC1 and PRV and the fueling was perfect but that smoke has disturbed me. Can anyone suggest what may cause this?
