i have seen a few mx5 and mk3 mr2 at main agent dealers..prices are about bang on what you would expect to pay from a stealer..ie about a grand more than you buy out the paper......my old coupe is a good un, but 98 r with 130k miles.....what can i expexct to be offered as a trade in price....if anythign??..

I was offered £1K for mine 2 months ago against a £3500 GTV. He didnt even bother looking at the book price, he based it on what they were going for in the Autotrader, so I'd expect £1K with a bif of haggling (he started on £750 smile )

I think the thing is these cars can hide a lot of faults well, and traders know it and wont put them on their forecourts no matter what the mileage and as a result would sell them as a private seller!

There was a trader on ebay Drfenwick doing just this!

mmm..lookin at mr2 and mx5 from 4k to 6k ish....probably be better going with a wad of cash than giving my coop away for that..iv had it advertised at £1500 on here, but no joy....maybe have to find a good, dry lock up and keep it for high days and holidays!!..cheers for the advice...

if i could have afforded to store mine in the garage and get the turbo diesel I need then that it was i would have done but as money is tight i had to bite the bullet and trade it in.
i really miss it but it did have a lot of problems and would have cost more than the cost of the laguna to fix them all properly so for once my head won over my heart.
