Not sure which section I should put this in, so mods feel free to move.
I've got the Carelli seats from the group buy a while back. After a trip to the physio, I sat into the car and was disturbed to note that I am now sitting too high! seems she elongated my spine!
From looking at the seats, there are spacer-type things that are about a centimetre thick on the nuts/screws that connect the seats to the runners.
I thought I read somewhere that these could be removed. I've searched but without success - does anyone have a link or a guide? obviously I'm considering that the seats must be secured very safely, so I am reluctant to go removing things until I'm absolutely sure it's ok.
Hmmm, I've had the seat out - easy enough - and I've removed the lowest spacers, but the bolts need to be filed down if I'm actually going to be any lower. Don't have a file.
What about the other spacers above the runner? Anyone removed them? it looks to me like there isn't a spacer on one of the bolts as it's home to the seatbelt thingy, so if I removed the other spacers, I'd be all lopsided...
I have the seat out, I've removed the washers between runners and seat, and now the seat won't slide on the runners - this means I can't move it far enough either way to bolt it back in!
the runners are a bit tempremental which are difficult to slide under the best of times, i have pulled off the pull lever under the seats a couple of times its a right pig to get back in.
You haven't broken it. The seat isn't going back because it is hitting the top of bolts, the same thing happened to me. You need to keep some of the spacers in to clear the head of the bolts.
