Hi all, after much saving and searching I finaly managed to fulfil my dream of owning a fully-fledged LE. I managed to persuade Rog to part with his pride and joy last Monday and took some photos today after a clean, so though I'd post these below for anyone who's interested.

I'm planning on getting a respray (as Rog suggested) as soon as I can (probably in a couple of months when I can afford it) to put her back into tip-top condition. Also intending to saddle-soap the seats next weekend.

She's an absolute credit to Rog as mechanically she's sweet as a nut, and I can thoroughly recomend his Stage 2 Hybrid Turbos... there's just no comparison to the standard turbo, the car is like a rocket ship! And just so smooth love

Looks like I'm going to be skint for a very long time working on my new project laugh

All the best
Steve

well... she's had a respray at some time, there's a bad blend onto the roof that you can see when you get close, and a couple of the panels are slightly different colours...lol laugh

Also, a couple of days before I bought her, a truck tried to take Rog off the road shocked so she's got a slight amount of damage (and I do mean slight) to the near-side rear wing. This is almost unnoticable until you run your hand down the wing and feel the dents on the wheel lip. Also has a very small scuff on the rear bumper in the same area.

All in all, I don't see any of this as a problem though, she'll get there smile

Getting one from Roger is excellent, does it need much doing to it apart from the body work?

My brother was the second owner of #30. Half the reason I fell in love with the Coupe and bought my 16VT.

Good to see she's still being cherished!

Rog has done loads of work on her, so there's nothing but the paintwork to sort really, extremely happy as she runs like a dream.

To be fair, she looks fantastic, but the first thing Rog said to me was that she could do with a respray, especially with the little bit of damage, so he was absolutely up-front with me.

Good to know about your brother owning her 2nd time around AngrySloucher, she's going to be very well looked after smile

Hi steve.

Glad you enjoying the coupe, i should really not have sold it in hindsight, but atleast i know you'll keep it in good shape.

Let me know when you want it painted, and ill put you in touch with my painter.

That turbo really suits a FMIC and more boost than its running now, so when your ready ill get you a good deal on a pro alloy kit.

Cool, thanks very much Rog smile

I've had a quote off the guy that did a really good job on my last Coupe for £1200 +VAT (around £1400 in total), I know what your painter quoted, but was that plus VAT or all in?

My guy is all in mate. If your painter is good then theres not much point travelling as you'll need to leave it for the week.

Just make sure that he masks it properly, my painter is polish and does an excellent job and doesnt cut corners.

...well it's going to be about the same then with travel, cost-wise, and I'd rather let someone who you recomend to paint it. Give me 2-3 months of saving and I'll get you to book her in with your polish painter smile

Wow! As you can probably tell by my username, I was the second owner of #30 and angrysloucher's brother (can't understand why he went for a measely 16vt after having spent so much time with my beloved LE). Have not been on here for a couple of years, but after hearing my old pride and joy was on here I just had to have a look!
Just want to say that after looking at your photos I am over the moon that all the following owners from me seem to have cherished her as much as I did. But at the same time really regretting selling her, we had a lot of fun together and annoyed an awfull lot of people with apparently "far superior and much faster" cars, PAH!
I'm going to sound really stupid now but in whilst in my possesion I gave her the name Ellie (as in LE) and hence bought the private plate.
So many memories, I really hope Ellie will give you as much enjoyment and satisfaction as she did me... and should you ever want to part company with her, please contact me smile !
All the best!!

Wow, this car really does have a lot of history, nice to hear from you LEnumber30, thank you for looking after her so well. Wild horses couldn't part me from her, she's going to be used every day and sleep in her own garage at night smile

And to (almost) complete the history, I was the owner before Rog.

I am though very disappointed. I sold the car very reluctantly to Rog at an exceptionally low price on the basis of 2 conditions. First, that he was only buying it to restore to a mint car as a flagship for his business. Second, that if he were ever to sell it, he would offer me first refusal to buy it back.

I understand business, but for Rog to go back on this agreement is very sad. I know he has a very good reputation on this forum for his knowledge and skills with the Coupe, and rightly so. However, it seems that integrity is not his strong point.

So you had an LE that needed lots of work and you sold it to someone else in the hope they would repair it to a high standard and the sell it back to you.

Begs the question why didn't you keep the car and do the work yourself....

The point is that I decided to sell based on assurances I was given.

All that had to happen was a phone call, and then I could have made a decision to buy it back or not. I was not given that opportunity.

I'm angry because I regretted selling the minute I got home, and genuinely expected to get a phone call one day.

Rog to his credit has PM'd me to apologise, and I appreciate the gesture.

Sorry to hear this essexell, I had no idea that there was an agreement between you and Rog.

In Rog's defence, this was a very reluctant sale on his part.

Thanks ioksotot. I'm not upset with you in the slightest, so don't let this take the shine off your purchase!

I genuinely hope you enjoy the car... I'm sure it's found a great home - which is all I wanted for it in the first place.
