Marco, spectator tickets are just 10€/£10 for the whole weekend if bought in advance. I can get this for you.

Hotel now booked too. Nancy didn't require any credit card details, she has reserved the rooms just on my name/club reference number.

From a crash helmet point of view, will a bike helmet suffice? I know they differ to car ones, but just wondering if I'll be able to get away with it or whether the checks will be stringent enough to identify its not a car one?

URGENT ATTENTION REQUIRED

Some weeks ago Peter requested our Booking forms, final payments and payments for any other track sessions you may like to purchase. Thus far Peter has received only a tiny handfull of forms and payments, indeed I too have not yet complied with his request blush

This is the booking form that we need to complete:

http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/documents/SpaiItalia_2010_Booking_Form.doc

If you are only participating in the Club sessions they you just need to fill out your details and pay the balance.

If you would like Peter (The Club) to pre-book other sessions then you need to add the price of these sessions to your total.

It must be stressed that without this information (and the final payments) the club will not be able to

A) Book your place / admission / Track time at Spa 2010
B) Book you any additional sessions.
C) Send you your tickets.

The club booking deadline is the 10th April!

Could those of you who have not yet sent in your form, and final payment, please do so as soon as possible. Mine will be posted tomorrow.

Bob

What speed are likly to be achieved at spa with a standard 20vt?Ive checked my tyres and rating is to 130 which is fine for me here but obviously at the track if im easily going to get near this i will be looking at fresh tyres.

it was my impression a std 20vt had to have tyres rated to 150mph (w or z?) for insurance purposes in this country? might be wrong though

Agree with Proccy - you have a 155mph car so the tyres should be rated accordingly. However I would say it's unlikely you will hit 130 in a standard Coupe at Spa.

I was once told by a Pirelli UK that the reference to speed, with regard to tyre ratings, is only part of the equation that is used when a car manufacturer calculates the required tyre rating.
The load that the tyre will have to cope with,as determined by the maximum torque output, is also a factor in the equation.
In other words you should never use a lower rated tyre on a coupe 20vt using the premise that you won't go over 120mph !!
You will be exerting the same forces on the tyre to get there using full power.
Using a incorrect rating WILL invalidate you insurance cover.

interestingly mr tickle posted me this link as i'm thinking of buying a helmet (or was until i got my daughters phone bill!). The link outlines what appears to be new regulation concerning helmets, gloves and suit and that fire retardent stuff will be mandatory at tracks. does anyone know the actual situation with regards to the weekend at spa, and how it fits in with these new rules? any advice appreciated....

I am not aware of any checks being made at Spa last year other that all people in the car on unrestricted sessions were wearing helmets.

MSA website: http://www.msauk.org/custom/asp/home/default.asp

Are track days motor sport? I dunno.

No, or we'd all need racing licences & roll cages.

I'm sure a bike lid will be fine.

Hope they do manage to get this fixed!

They say work will be completed by 15th April thumb
Quote
Spa Francorchamps Circuit, Press release, 24 March 2010
Circuit de Spa Francorchamps S.A. wishes to report that track activities at the Spa Francorchamps Circuit have been suspended until 15 April due to the collapse of the Blanchimont tunnel.
The Intercommunal Circuit Association, which is responsible for maintenance of the site, has drawn up a schedule which foresees the end of stabilisation work on the track and its verges by this date.
Circuit de Spa Francorchamps S.A. has no choice but to cancel all events scheduled to take place on the Circuit up to and including Thursday 15 April. All sports races will be able to go ahead as normal, since none of them were scheduled to take place before 24 April.
The cancelled events concern competitive teams from Spain, Italy and Germany coming to train in preparation for the 2010 season, as well as English, Dutch and German teams coming to Francorchamps so that their many members can enjoy use of the track.
Cancellation of events at the Circuit unfortunately also means cancellation of a large number of overnight stays in hotels and guesthouses in the region.

Ooops that will hurt. And they are complaining about noise, this will hurt the pockets of the local economy which might in turn just show how much the track is welcomed locally.

If anyone fancies a quick coupe checkover free of charge then let me know. Will check them over on the ramp and get it on the diag to make sure everythings how it should be.

Be nice if non of us saw the hard shoulder.
I will do these 2 weeks before the event takes place,so will give you plenty of time to get under it on your drive after work in the rain with a ratchet that slips and a torch that doesnt work :(

Will do these on a weekend,as shop is full in the week.
