Is it an Import ? #101797

Evening all.

I had a look at an X reg 20VT [6] tonight and something about it confused me. Hopefully you guys will have the answer. The car has a large document, all in Italian on Fiat headed paper (more like thin card) and it looks like an original build card of some sort.

The thing that got my attention was a DVLA stamp at the bottom stating that the car was Re-Registered with the current number plate.

Is this just the method that Fiat registered the UK cars when they were new, or could this car be an import?

Cheers,

DC

what colour is it and what interior colour is it? Some combinations were not available in the UK.

Also does it have an alarm key, so you can turn it off? The re-reg bit could just be that it had a private plate.

Have you tried doing an insurance quote using the reg no. Why does it matter if it is an import if you can get an insurance quote?

Almost certainly an import but it makes no difference as the car should be same spec as UK car.

If it is I wouldn't worry about it, all cars are imported anyway. Spec should be the same if not very very similar to UK, some Euro spec cars had things UK don't have - heated seats, headlight washers, different alarms, but nothing major.

I just wondered, that's all. I probably not going to buy it as I'd really want a Plus for that money. It was a nice car but had quite a lot of stone chips on the front and there was a fair bit of trim rattling coming from the passenger door.

The colour was (apparently) moon grey, interior was normal black leather. I don't know whether it was moon grey or not as I haven't seen another one up close. It did seem to have a very nice light light blue undertone to the silver. Very nice colour.

It may have been imported as there was no PDI stamp in the service book. The first stamp is a 6000 mile service. However, all services are main dealer so the history looks nice and complete.

Import or not isn't really an issue, I just wanted to know if all Coupes came with that document.

Thanks for the help,

DC

One more question. Did all the later cars come with German service books?

Wouldn't go much on a Fiat service history. Had an arrangement with the dealer when they did the Stilo to pay the workshop Monkeys a bonus in bananas & coconuts, if they a) did it within 3 days...b) did it without putting greasy hand prints up and down the inside trim . They managed a large greasy palm print on the white headliner exactly in the middle. So the bonus was a large lemon.

Buying a Coupe is all to do with condition..condition...condition and has the timing belt been done? Origin unless stolen or LHD not very important.
