Advantages of a Plus over a 20VT? #103607

Morning,

I'm just trying to get 100% clear on the differences between the 20VT Plus and 20VTs as I am now seriously looking for a car.

The Plus has the bodykit, strut brace, recarro seats and 6 speed gearbox, all of which are missing from the 20VT. The only exception being the g/box on the very last 20VTs.
Is there anything I've missed? Is there any performance difference? Were there any engineering changes later on that improved the car in any other way?

I only ask because the idea of a getting a slightly old 20VT for £2-£3k less than a Plus and just addind the kit and brace is becoming rather appealing. There aren't many low mileage examples of the Plus out there

Cheers

DC

Hehe, I forgot about the push button.

Both cars I've test driven so far had the push button and both times I forgot about it when I went to start the car.

I'm looking at some cars this weekend, hopefully I'll have found one pretty soon.

The full plus kit has the following:

-Bodykit (sideskirts, front lips and rear bumper underskirt in colour)
-Recaro seats with red stitching (also on steering wheel, gearstick and door panels)
-Red strut brace
-6 speed gearbox
-Starter button
-Brembo brakes in red (normal is silver)
-Red engine cover (Testa rossa in italian, sounds much better )
-Silver dials
-Luggage net in boot

A lot of these things were put on the normal late 20vt's as well, so not always exclusive to the plus. The late models (including plus) also have a interior light in the left c pillar, a FIAT logo stamped in the kick plates and there are panels behind the centre console (on the sides) that make it look a bit neater.

I heard that when you take ownership of a Plus, your penis grows an extra inch, and there's some italian writing on the chassis plate, that translates roughly as "you are far superior to the std 20VT"

Although I'm not 100% on that one.

Pinin - Have you got a timescale for this? Its been over 5 months now and although it feels a bit better, I personally havent noticed much difference.

I always seem to fall foul to these bold marketing claims. Time for a refund me thinks.

If you retrofit most parts onto a Normal 20VT you get half an inch length and half an inch girth

What did you all think the "Plus" stood for anyway ?

Of course if you buy an "LE" the opposite is true because it stands for "Limited Extremity"
